Chandigarh Jan 25 PTI Schools for classes 10 to 12 will reopen in Haryana from February 1 Education Minister Kanwar Pal said on Tuesday The Haryana government has decided to open schools for 10th 11th and 12th classes from February 1 Kanwar Pal said in a tweet The Haryana government had earlier this month suspended physical classes in all schools amid the surge in COVID-19 cases Online teaching however continued and will continue as before even when schools reopen the Minister later said adding all Covid- related norms will be strictly followed as earlier when physical classes resume The minister said 75 per cent of the students falling in the 15-18 years category had received the first dose of the vaccine against Covid in the state A decision regarding resuming physical classes for students of other classes will be taken later they said The state government earlier had declared winter holidays in the educational institutions from January 3 to 12 and later physical classes were suspended in view of a surge in the Covid cases Notably there has been growing demand from some private schools and people in many rural areas to reopen the schools PTI SUN RAX RAX
Chandigarh Dec 17 PTI Haryana Congress MLA Aftab Ahmed on Friday slammed the BJP-led state government for not paying adequate attention to the Mewat region saying up to 50 per cent posts of teacher are lying vacant in schools there During the Question Hour in the State Assembly here the Nuh legislator said under the previous Congress regime a Mewat cadre was created with an aim to provide quality education and ensure that adequate number of teachers are posted in schools Up to 50 per cent posts of teacher are lying vacant in schools in Mewat The seriousness of the government to tackle this is evident from the fact that many teachers have been transferred out of the district said Ahmed Haryana Education Minister Kanwar Pal told the House that at present a total of 8506 posts of different categories of teachers are sanctioned in the Mewat cadre At present 4325 teachers are working in 938 government schools of Nuh district he said Kanwar Pal said since 2015 93 principals and 91 elementary education headmasters have been appointed by promotion in the high schools of the Mewat cadre Apart from this a total of 619 elementary teachers have been recruited through direct recruitment he said He told the House that a demand has been sent to the Haryana Staff Selection Commission for recruitment against 315 posts of PGT 370 of TGT and 952 of PRT in the Mewat cadre The commission has informed that the recruitment process will be completed in a period of about four to five months the minister told the Assembly He said as far as filling posts of teacher of different categories reserved for promotion is concerned the process of filling those posts has been started which will be done soon Replying to another question raised by BJP MLA Assem Goel minister Anil Vij said whenever cases of sending people abroad through illegal means are reported immediate action is taken An SIT was constituted last year under the chairpersonship of IPS officer Bharti Arora to tighten the noose around those involved in such cases As many as 591 people were arrested and 485 FIRs and an amount of Rs 8138800 recovered from them To another question raised during the Question Hour Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said a detailed plan has been prepared to deal with the problem of waterlogging in the state A special scheme will be started by the December-end and a dedicated portal for it will be launched in January Khattar said The chief minister said the problem of waterlogging is not new to the state as a large area is affected due to this There is a problem of waterlogging on about four to five lakh acres he said Therefore the state government has made a plan to deal with the problem initially on one lakh acres he said PTI SUN VSD RDK RDK

Chandigarh Nov 23 PTI Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday said free tablets will soon be given to students of Class 11 and 12 across the state The government has decided to purchase five lakh tablets which will be given to the students studying in Class 11 and 12 in the upcoming academic session A total of Rs 560 crore will be spent to buy these tablets he said In future the government would plan to give tablets to the students of other classes as well he said Besides 15000 tubewell connections will be issued to the farmers soon Khattar said In this regard the process of purchasing power equipment worth Rs 350 crore was completed during the meeting of a high-power purchase committee These decisions were taken in a meeting held here in which Education Minister Kanwar Pal Transport Minister Mool Chand Sharma Power Minister Ranjit Singh Chautala and Agriculture Minister J P Dalal were among others present according to an official release Later interacting with reporters the Chief Minister said curbing corruption is the main goal of his government If any officer or employee is found involved in corruption strict action will be taken against him he said in response to questions on the alleged scam in recruitment for dental surgeons The Chief Minister said if anyone gets any information related to corruption in jobs or departments then they should immediately inform the State Vigilance Bureau PTI SUN HDA
Chandigarh Aug 25 PTI The Haryana government has decided to reopen primary schools for Classes 4 and 5 from September 1 Education Minister Kanwar Pal said on Wednesday Students will be allowed to come to the school with prior written permission of their parents he said in an official statement Over a month ago schools in Haryana were reopened for Classes 9 to 12 Later students of Classes 6 to 8 were allowed to attend school However it has not made it mandatory for students to come to school as online classes are also continuing As per the guidelines issued last month only one student is allowed to sit on a desk and sharing of food or stationery items is prohibited A gap of at least six feet has to be maintained between two students and desks will bear name tags of students where they have to sit according to the guidelines Thermal scanning and hand sanitisation of students is to be done at the entrance of the school Masks are to be checked and provisions have to be made to provide one if a student is found not wearing a face cover PTI SUN RDK RDK
