In a bid to cater Air travellers in reaching Airport on time, the South Western Railway on Saturday decided to improve the train services for the trains passing Kempegowda International Airport Railway Station (KIAD).

The maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility was inaugurated by IndiGo's Engineering Head SC Gupta. The facility can accommodate up to two narrow-body aircraft at the same time. Additionally, the facility will have support infrastructure, including an engine QEC shop warehouse and engineering offices for all repair and maintenance work.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated the Terminal 2 of Kempegowda International Airport at Bengaluru.

Built at a cost of around Rs 5,000 crore, Terminal 2 will be able to handle around 5-6 crore passengers from the current capacity of 2.5 crore annually.
