Chennai Apr 21 PTI A police team on Thursday held enquiries with expelled AIADMK leader V K Sasikala a close aide of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa over the 2017 heist and murder case at the Kodanadu bungalow in the Nilgiris Jayalalithaa used the property as a retreat and post her death in December 2016 some articles went missing and the watchman there was found murdered after thieves allegedly broke into itOn Thursday a team of officials under R Sudhakar IG West Zone held enquiries with Sasikala at her residence here and she assured full cooperation in the investigation police sources saidShe was asked about her last visit to the property the documents and cash that were maintained there and if she had met late Jayalalithaas driver Kanagaraj who died in an accident earlier among others they saidShe described the 2017 incident as very unfortunate and wanted stringent punishment against those involved the sources added PTI NVM SA SA SA SS SS
Coimbatore Apr 18 PTI Close on the heels of questioning former AIADMK MLA V C Arukutty two days ago the special investigation team probing the Kodanadu heist-cum-murder case on Monday interrogated the partys Amma Peravai functionary Anubhav Ravi here Ravi is the Coimbatore district joint secretary of the Amma Peravai The key accused in the case Kanagaraj who died in an accident four days after the incident at Kodanadu Estate in Nilgiris district where the security guard Om Bahadur was murdered on April 24 2017 had reportedly made his last phone call to Ravi Based on this the team led by West Zone IG R Sudhakar interrogated Ravi for more than three hours police said Former legislator Arukutty was similarly interrogated on April 15 over the case The estate belonged to former chief minister J Jayalalithaa Ten persons were arrested and are facing trial in Kotagiri Court and nearly 200 people have been questioned in this case PTI NVM HDA HDA
Coimbatore Dec 22 PTI The Special Investigating Team SIT probing into the Kodanadu heist and murder case on Wednesday interrogated Vivek Jayaraman a close relative of late former Chief Minister Jayalalithas close aide Sasikala police said The team has already questioned more than 30 people including the manager of Kodanadu Estate in Nilgiris district The estate served as a retreat for Jayalalithaa where a watchman was murdered and a few documents reportedly stolen in 2017 The interrogation of Sasikalas kin for nearly three hours was part of the investigaton as he was said to have close connection with Kodanadu estate So far K V Sayan the prime accused in the case Natraj the estate manager and policemen who were on duty at the checkposts when the accused escaped after committing the offence have been quizzed The police teams have taken up the task to quiz more witnesses besides estate workers and other suspects It emerged during the probe that Jayalalithaas former driver C Kanagaraj and Sayan had allegedly plotted the crime A total of 10 people were arrested in the case and a charge sheet was also filed PTI NVM NVG NVG
