Kohima Sep 28 PTI The Nagaland government Tuesday decided to extend its latest phase of unlocking till October 31 with more relaxations officials said The state government has been announcing the unlocking process in a phased manner since July 1 and the current Unlock phase six was to end on September 30 The decision was taken at a review meeting of the High Powered Committee HPC on COVID-19 helmed by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio government spokesperson and minister Neiba Kronu said The government decided to relax the night curfew timing by an hour and keep it in force from 10 pm to 4 am he said The HPC also permitted the functioning of all religious places including churches and places of worship with 100 per cent capacity However they have to strictly adhere to the laid down SOPs and also follow Covid appropriate behaviour CAB at all times he said Sports activities and other mass gatherings will also be permitted by strictly adhering to CAB he said The government spokesperson also informed that while the decision to open schools for the conduct of physical classes for classes 5 and above from October 1 still stands the HPC has decided to open all categories of educational institutes including pre-primary levels from November 1 if the situation continues to improve He said that those fully vaccinated or who have taken one dose of vaccine at least 15 days before undertaking the journey would be allowed to travel to Nagaland While the HPC in its earlier meeting on September 13 had decided to host the Hornbill Festival in December a separate meeting will be held with the Health and Tourism departments to chalk out the final programme the minister said PTI NBS MM MM

Kohima Sep 26 PTI Single-day recoveries outnumbered new COVID-19 cases in Nagaland on Sunday as 48 people were cured of the disease and 31 tested positive for the infection a health department official said The fresh infections pushed the states tally to 31150 it said Of the new cases 19 were reported from Dimapur nine from Kohima two from Tuensang and one from Mokokchung Forty-eight more people - 21 in Tuensang 11 in Dimapur and nine in Kohima two each in Kiphire Peren and Phek and one in Mokokchung - were cured of the disease Since Saturday taking the total number of recoveries in the state to 29062 Integrated Disease Surveillance Project state nodal officer Dr Nyanthung Kikon said The recovery rate among COVID-19 patients in the state currently stands at 9329 per cent Nagaland now has 445 active cases while the death toll remained at 662 as no new fatality due to the infection was reported during the day At least 981 COVID patients have so far migrated to other states Over 367 lakh sample tests have been conducted for COVID-19 so far he said State Immunisation Officer Dr Ritu Thurr said 683316 eligible beneficiaries have been inoculated till Saturday with over 336 lakh of them having received both doses of the vaccines PTI NBS BDC BDC

Kohima Sep 25 PTI Nagalands COVID-19 tally rose to 31119 on Saturday as 34 more people tested positive for the infection while one fresh fatality pushed the states coronavirus death toll to 662 a health bulletin said Dimapur district registered the highest number of new cases at 26 followed by Kohima six and Mokokchung two it said adding that the fresh fatality was recorded in Dimapur Nagaland now has 465 active cases while 29014 people have been cured of the disease to date including 34 in the last 24 hours and 978 patients have migrated to other states thus far The recovery rate among the coronavirus patients in the state stood at 9323 per cent The state has thus far tested over 366 lakh samples for COVID-19 and inoculated over 682 lakh people of whom 334 lakh have been fully vaccinated PTI NBS ACD ACD

Kohima Sep 23 PTI The Nagaland government has planned to cover at least 70 per cent of over 233 lakh targeted households under the Ayushman Bharat a universal health insurance scheme by March 2022 state health minister S Pangnyu Phom said on Thursday Only 41 per cent of these families have been covered under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana he said on the occasion of the third anniversary of the centrally sponsored welfare programme He announced that the state health department will cover up to 163329 households by March 2022 under the Aapke Dwar Ayushman Ayushman scheme at doorsteps initiative Since the inception of the scheme in 2018 around 20000 hospitalisation cases have been registered and claims worth Rs 25 crore have already been disbursed Phom said The health insurance programme aims at providing a coverage of Rs 5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalisation Aadhaar-seeded ration cards will be linked to PMJAY portal which will help the enrolment process and improve coverage the minister said The Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission NSRLM will be partnering with the health agency to make people aware of the health insurance scheme Construction workers registered under the labour department will soon join the insurance programme and accordingly 8584 new families will be added he said PTI NBS BDC BDC

Kohima Sep 20 PTI Nagaland on Monday witnessed a marginal rise in the number of fresh COVID-19 cases with 19 infections added during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 30 907 The state also recorded more COVID-19 recoveries than fresh infections as 55 patients recovered during the day a health bulletin said A total of 28835 people have recovered from the infection in Nagaland and the recovery rate stands at 9329 per cent One more person succumbed to COVID-19 in Nagaland in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 654 Of the 43 fresh cases Tuensang district registered the highest at 14 followed by Dimapur 13 and Mokukchung 8 The state at present has 467 active cases and as many as 951 COVID-19 patients have migrated to other states So far 358773 samples have been tested for COVID-19 in Nagaland A total of 974010 doses of vaccines have been administered to 677200 people in Nagaland as of Sunday said State Immunisation Officer Dr Ritu Thurr PTI NBS MM MM

Kohima Sep 19 PTI Nagaland reported more COVID-19 recoveries than fresh infections on Sunday as 28 patients got cured while 24 new cases pushed the tally to 30864 a health official said As many as 28780 people have recuperated from the infection so far and the COVID-19 recovery rate in the state is 9324 per cent the official said Dimapur district registered the highest number of new cases at 13 followed by Kohima 9 and Longleng 2 At present Nagaland has 484 active COVID-19 cases seven less than the number of active cases on Saturday The coronavirus death toll remained at 653 as the state has not reported any new fatality due to the disease in the last 24 hours Altogether 947 COVID-19 patients have migrated to other states the official said Thus far 357437 samples have been tested for COVID-19 in Nagaland A total of 970648 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered to 676984 persons in the state as of Saturday said State Immunisation Officer Dr Ritu Thurr PTI NBS MM MM

Kohima Sep 18 PTI Fresh COVID-19 cases outnumbered single-day recoveries in Nagaland after nine consecutive days as 60 more people tested positive for the infection while 37 people were cured of the disease on Saturday The new cases pushed the northeastern states COVID-19 tally to 30840 while one fresh fatality took the death toll to 653 a health bulletin said Tuensang district registered the highest number of new cases at 21 followed by Dimapur 20 and Kohima 12 it said adding that the fresh fatality was recorded in Dimapur The state now has 491 active cases while 28752 people have been cured of the disease and 944 patients have migrated to other states so far The recovery rate slightly dipped to 9322 per cent from 9329 per cent on the previous day Nagaland has tested over 356 lakh samples for COVID-19 thus far and inoculated over 676 lakh people of whom 291 lakh have been fully vaccinated PTI NBS ACD ACD
