Indore Apr 21 PTI The authorities in Madhya Pradeshs Indore district rescued two minor sisters who were allegedly tortured by their father and were being forced to get married an official said on Thursday A flying squad of the women and child development department was tipped off about the preparations of the wedding of the sisters aged 15 and 17 years following which the administration intervened in-charge official Mahendra Pathak said The girls who are residents of Devguradia area were supposed to marry two youths from neighbouring Dewas district he said When the squad asked the girls family to produce their age proof their father started making excuses and claimed that the certificates were kept in his ancestral home in a village far away the official said Their birth records were later brought in from their school and they revealed that the girls were 17 and 15 years old Pathak said As per the law of the land the marriageable age for boys is 21 while for girls it is 18 People violating the rule have to undergo two years of rigorous imprisonment or pay Rs 1 lakh fine or both under The Prohibition of Child Marriage Act 2006 The girls have alleged that their father tortured them in an inebriated state every now and then and even tried to throw them from the top floor of their house Pathak said The sisters have been shifted to an Aashray Sthal for the time being he added PTI HWP MAS ARU ARU

Indore Feb 28 PTI Thirty deformed teeth of a 10-year-old who was suffering from a rare and complex Odontoma condition were removed in Madhya Pradeshs Indore a doctor said on Monday The boy had complained of chronic swelling and pain in the teeth and an examination revealed he had 50 teeth in his mouth due to Odontoma said Sachin Thakur of private Modern Dental College and Research Centre Just one or two such cases are found in a population of one lakh The problem can become complex if not addressed on time A three-member team removed 30 teeth of the boy in a surgery carried out over two-and-half hours He will regain 30 teeth by the age of 18 he said PTI HWP ADU BNM BNM BNM

Indore Feb 22 PTI Two medical students in Madhya Pradeshs Indore were caught copying with the help of modern Bluetooth devices placed deftly in the ears and fixed to the vest an official said on Tuesday A flying squad of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya DAVV on Monday caught the duo while they were appearing in the last year examination of the MBBS course at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial MGM Medical College he said One of the students had hidden a small device with SIM in his vest which was being used as a mobile phone Another student was found with a normal mobile on which phone calls were being made during the examination the official said Both of them had placed Bluetooth-powered microphones in their ears for copying in such a way that no one would notice or be able to see them he said DAVV Vice Chancellor Renu Jain said We think these microphones were surgically fitted in the ears of both the students Cases have been prepared against both the students A committee of DAVV will take a decision in this regard MGM Medical College dean Dr Sanjay Dixit said the college management has shared all the information with DAVV which will take suitable action in this regard PTI HWP ADU BNM BNM BNM

New Delhi Feb 18 PTI Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a Bio-CNG plant in Madhya Pradeshs Indore on Saturday via video conferencing his office said The prime minister recently launched the Swachh Bharat Mission Urban 20 with the overall vision of creating Garbage Free Cities the Prime Ministers Office PMO said The Swachh Bharat Mission Urban 20 is being implemented under the overarching principles of waste to wealth and circular economy for maximising resource recovery -- both of which are exemplified in the Indore Bio-CNG plant The plant to be inaugurated by PM Modi at 1 PM on Saturday has a capacity to treat 550 tonnes per day of segregated wet organic waste the statement said It is expected to produce around 17000 kg of CNG and 100 tonnes of organic compost per day The plant is based on zero landfill models whereby no rejects would be generated the statement said Additionally the project is expected to yield multiple environmental benefits viz reduction in greenhouse gas emissions providing green energy along with organic compost as fertilizer it said Indore Clean Energy Pvt Ltd a Special Purpose Vehicle created to implement the project was set up by Indore Municipal Corporation IMC and Indo Enviro Integrated Solutions Ltd IEISL under a Public Private Partnership model with 100 per cent capital investment of Rs 150 crore by IEISL Indore Municipal Corporation will purchase a minimum 50 per cent of CNG produced by the plant and in a first-of-its-kind initiative run 400 city buses using it The balance quantity of CNG will be sold in the open market The organic compost will help replace chemical fertilisers for agricultural and horticultural purposes the statement said PTI ASK SMN SMN

Indore Nov 28 PTI Police have registered an offence against a man for giving instant triple talaq to his wife at a village square in Madhya Pradeshs Indore district for not fulfilling his demand to get a new motorcycle from her parents an official said on Sunday The 22-year-old woman lodged a complaint on Saturday that her husband Joher ended the marital relations by giving instant triple talaq to her at a square in Kesharwardi village some 35 kms from the district headquarters an official of Badgonda police station said on Sunday Quoting the complaint the official said that Joher and his mother Tasleem had been harassing the woman for the past two years as her parents did not fulfil their dowry demand for a motorcycle The womans husband and mother-in-law had been threatening her since a long time that he would give triple talaq to her he said Based on the womans complaint a case was registered against the man and his mother under provisions of the Muslim Women Protection of Rights on Marriage Act 2019 which bans the practice of instant triple talaq and Indian Penal Code IPC for dowry demand he said Nobody has been arrested in the case and further investigation is underway the police official added PTI HWP ADU NP NP

Indore Sep 29 PTI The police on Wednesday rescued a 65-year-old businessman who had been abducted from Madhya Pradeshs Indore two days ago and arrested four men in connection with the crime an official said Sikander Sachdeva who was kidnapped from a roadside joint on Monday was rescued from a hotel room in Kukshi town of neighbouring Dhar district Superintendent of Police SP Ashutosh Bagri said The police have nabbed the accused Sukhram Kanesh Digvijay Rawat Dinesh Alava and Karan Alava on the charges of kidnapping he said The accused who hail from Alirajpur and Dhar districts allegedly had an old dispute with the businessman over payments the official said At the time of kidnapping the accused had allegedly introduced themselves as the sleuths of the crime branch and asked the victim to accompany them in a car the SP said The accused also used the white vehicle bearing a sign of MP Government during the abduction he said adding that further probe is underway in the matter PTI HWP MAS ARU ARU
