Mumbai: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh while taking a dig on sunday said “some irresponsible nations” with their narrow partisan interests and hegemonic tendencies are coming up with wrong definitions of the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
UNCLOS is being repeatedly weakened by arbitrary interpretation of its definition by some nations, Mr Singh said, after commissioning of Indian Navy’s destroyer Visakhapatnam.
Mr Singh said, “Some irresponsible nations, with their narrow partisan interests, hegemonic tendencies are coming with wrong definitions of international laws,”

Srinagar : Bodies of Mohammad Altaf Bhat and Mudasir Gul, two civilians killed in the Hyderpora encounter, were cremated by their family members. The bodies, which were exhumed at Handwara after sundown on Thursday, reached Srinagar around midnight, the officials said.
The Officials said that they got to witness an emotional scenario at the residences of Bhat and Gul as soon as their bodies reached Barzulla and Pirbagh. Family Members and relatives were waiting for the bodies broke down, to get the last glimpse of their loved one, before cremation.

The policemen, sources say, “illegally” used their service gun “to kill” two people during the gang war. A special investigation team or SIT has been constituted to probe the incident, a senior police officer told NDTV.
The two men were part of a group of four persons who were chased by a rival group which included the two policemen, in Arnia area of Jammu yesterday.
