Mumbai Oct 21 PTI Mumbai on Thursday reported 429 new coronavirus positive cases and five deaths taking the infection tally to 752386 and toll to 16197 a civil official said This is for the second day in a row that the metropolis has reported more than 400 cases On Wednesday it had witnessed 463 cases and four fatalities With 34220 tests being conducted in the last 24 hours across the city its cumulative test count climbed to 11095762 the official said There are 4537 active COVID-19 cases in the countrys financial capital after 435 patients recuperated and were discharged from hospitals taking the recovery count to 729131 At present 42 buildings have been sealed across the city to curb the spread of the virus while it is free from containment zones since mid-August the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation BMC official said Mumbais recovery rate is 97 per cent Its case doubling rate is 1328 days and the average growth rate is 005 per cent for the period between October 14 and 20 the official said Earlier this year Mumbai had reported the highest 11163 daily cases on April 4 while the highest 90 fatalities were witnessed on May 1 PTI KK NP NP

Mumbai sees 343 new COVID-19 cases four deaths 272 recover

Mumbai Aug 25 PTI Mumbai on Wednesday reported 343 coronavirus positive cases which is the second highest one-day infection count this month a civic official said With this the citys overall case tally climbed to 742004 while the death toll grew by four to 15956 the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation BMC official said There are 2855 active COVID-19 cases in the metropolis at present On August 4 the countrys financial capital had logged 363 infections the highest one-day count so far this month The city had on Wednesday witnessed a rise in COVID-19 cases as compared to the previous day when it had reported 270 infections and only one fatality which was the lowest since the pandemic broke out last year As 42723 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours the city surpassed the mark of 90-lakh coronavirus tests and the cumulative count climbed to 9018795 This is for the eleventh consecutive day that slums and chawls in the city do not have any containment zones while the number of sealed buildings has increased to 26 The Mumbai civic body seals buildings or declares containment zones if at least five patients tested positive to Coronavirus infection from there As 272 patients got discharge from hospitals the recovery count rose to 720750 the official said Mumbais average case doubling rate declined to 1884 days from 1958 days recorded on Tuesday while the COVID-19 growth rate for the period between August 18 and 24 stood at 004 per cent PTI KK NP NP
