Maha Four offences of power theft worth Rs 2286 lakh registered in Thane district

Thane Jan 22 PTI The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited MSEDCL has registered four offences of power theft of over Rs 22 lakh in Thane district an official said on Saturday As per a release issued by the state-run power company two offences each had been registered in Sahapur and Kalyan subdivisions based on complaints lodged by MSEDCL engineers who detected the thefts worth Rs 2286 lakh The offences had been detected in an industrial unit poultry farm and two domestic supplies it was stated In one of the cases a remote gadget was used to steal power and in other cases electricity meter was bypassed the official said Offences had been registered with the Murbad and MFC police stations it was stated PTI COR ARU ARU

Thane Nov 27 PTI As many as 37 bogus doctors were found operating in Thane district of Maharashtra in the last four years and cases have been registered against 31 of them so far a health official said on Saturday This information was shared during a meeting of the committee tasked to find bogus doctors in the district The meeting was chaired by Thane district health officer Dr Manish Renge These 37 bogus doctors have been found in five talukas of the district - Ambarnath Bhiwandi Shahapur Kalyan and Murbad the official said During the meeting the health officials were instructed that before giving a no-objection certificate to medical practitioners the gram panchayats or nagar panchayats should forward their relevant documents to the tehsil-level medical authorities for verification which will help in curbing such malpractices in the district Dr Renge said PTI COR NP NP

Thane Oct 21 PTI Police have arrested a 35-year-old man for allegedly killing his father over a property dispute here in Maharashtra an official said on Thursday The accused Ravi Mangal Shelke allegedly stabbed to death his father Mangal Hari Shelke 50 on October 12 in Navle village of Thane and then absconded Murbad police stations senior inspector Prasad Pandhare said The Murbad police had then registered a case against the accused under Indian Penal Code Section 302 murder and launched a search for him They finally nabbed him from Murbad taluka on Wednesday the official said The accused is the son of the victim from his first wife and was not happy with his father marrying the second time They were having frequent quarrels since the last five years over a property issue and the victim had evicted the accused from his house following the dispute the official said PTI COR GK GK
