Chumukeidma (Nagaland) [India], June 11 (ANI): Nagaland Police have chargesheeted 30 soldiers of 21 Para Special Force, including an officer, in the botched army operation in Oting area of Mon district in December last year that killed 13 civilians.

Kohima Nov 29 PTI Nagaland Police on Monday launched a mobile application for facilitating the users to get in touch with the law enforcers anywhere in the state Launching the mobile app Call your cop DGP T John Longkumer said it will enable citizens especially those in distress to give a call to the force that will now be just a call away The App has contact numbers of Nagaland Police officers along with other features like alerts emergency numbers and police station details He also said that stress is on stopping violence against women and making mothers and sisters realise that they can get in touch with the police easily Pointing out that the state police have launched a community outreach programme COP Longkumer said this app is a beginning towards interactive communication between the law enforcers and people Meanwhile with the onset of the festive season and the Hornbill celebrations starting December 1 the DGP said a Tourist Police Control Room will be launched on Tuesday with helpline number 112 An effort is on to make the Hornbill Festival the pride of Nagaland - totally safe the DGP said The Tourist Police have a big responsibility to host the guests and visitors with kindness and be ever ready to help them the police chief said The app was developed by the Police Headquarters CID branch in collaboration with Excellogics Tech Solutions Pvt Ltd Nagaland Business Development Manager at Excellogics Solutions Zhavi Nagi said the mobile application is now available on the Google Playstore for Android users PTI NBS MM MM

Kohima Oct 22 PTI The Nagaland Police have suspended 13 personnel of its narcotic cell for allegedly seizing 10 gold bars from smugglers but keeping the authorities in the dark about it a senior police officer said on Friday A criminal case was instituted against them and an inquiry was ordered into the alleged misconduct of the law enforcers he said The incident took place in September this year but the police action came to light now On September 10 at least 13 personnel of the narcotic cell manning the inter-state check gate at Khuzama in Kohima district had reportedly seized the 10 gold bars Senior Superintendent of Police Crime and PRO police headquarters Manoj Kumar said while interacting with journalists here On receipt of the information a criminal case was registered against the 13 personnel at the state crime police station of the police headquarters in Kohima on September 17 he said Reacting to social-media reports that some gold bars were missing from 290 of them weighing approximately 4814 kg recovered by another team at the narcotic checkpoint at Khuzama on October 3 the PRO clarified that it is incorrect The seizures made in both the cases are intact at the police malkhana godown he said PTI NBS MM MM
