Frankfurt [Germany], August 5 (ANI): It is commonly known that bats utilise ultrasonic sounds to orient themselves and use the echoes that follow to create an impression of their environment. For instance, echolocation is used by the Seba's short-tailed bat (Carollia perspicillata) to find the fruits that make up its preferred diet. Bats communicate with one another via vocalising as well. They use a significantly narrower band of frequencies for this.

For instance, the Seba's short-tailed bat (Carollia perspicillata) uses echolocation to locate the fruits that make up its favourite diet. Additionally, bats interact with one another through vocalisations. For this, they employ a slightly smaller spectrum of frequencies.
