Noida Dec 28 PTI A cricket tournament was inaugurated for prison inmates of the Luksar jail in Gautam Buddh Nagar on Tuesday as part of measures for their physical and mental well-being officials saidThe inauguration took place as Deputy Commissioner of Police Greater Noida Amit Kumar visited the jail for an inspection along with Additional District Magistrate Administration Nitin Madan and Jailor AK Singh they saidThe DCP enquired from the jailor about the problems being faced by prison inmates Along with this a cricket tournament was inaugurated in which various teams of inmates are participating The initiative is aimed at the physical and mental well-being of the inmates a police official said During the inspection officers went around the high security barracks the jail hospital and other places within the prison complex and also interacted with the inmates to address their concerns the official added PTI KIS ANB ANB
Noida Dec 28 PTI A three-year-old girl who had gone missing from her home four days ago was found dead in an under-construction building in Noida on Tuesday police saidThe body bears injury marks and has been sent for post-mortem while an investigation has also been launched in the case Gautam Buddh Nagars Deputy Commissioner of Police Women and Child Safety Vrinda Shukla saidThe girl lived here with her grandmother Her father is lodged in a jail since last two years in a criminal case while her mother stays in Budaun district as the couple had a dispute regarding the custody of the girl Shukla saidThe childs grandmother had approached the local Phase-2 police station on December 25 stating that the three-year-old girl had gone missing according to officialsAn FIR was immediately filed and searches carried out by multiple police teams including one which went to the home of her maternal grandparents in Budaun the officials saidIn pursuance of the case the local police were alerted by the girls relatives on Tuesday about presence of a young girls body in an under-construction building near Ilahabas village DCP Shukla saidThe police checked the building and found the body which bore some injury marks The body has been sent for post mortem and further legal proceedings would be carried out accordingly she addedThe police have detained some suspects for questioning the officer said adding further investigation is underway PTI KIS RCJ RCJ
