Process expedited for land lease back to 1451 villagers in Greater Noida

Noida Sep 29 PTI The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority GNIDA on Wednesday said it has expedited the process for lease back of land of 1451 villagers in Greater Noida as it received a go-ahead from the Uttar Pradesh government GNIDA CEO Narendra Bhooshan said the state government had formed a Special Investigation Team SIT to ascertain the ownership claims on the land parcels which had been notified by the authority for acquisition On the basis of SITs report the government has given permission to the GNIDA to lease back the abaadi land to 1451 farmers These farmers had been demanding from the authority for a long time to lease back the population Bhooshan said The authority had also been advocating in the favour of the villagers At present lease back will be done in the name of 1451 farmers The SIT has sought the district administrations report on the claims of the remaining 533 villagers over the issue Once that is done the government would take a decision on their claims too he said The senior officer said the GNIDA has expedited work for leasing back the abaadi land to the 1451 villagers and urged the rightful owners to follow the set procedures to complete the process without difficulty According to people privy to the conflict around 2000 people from over 40 villages in Greater Noida had been protesting against the incorrect acquisition of their abaadi land around 2010 and 2011 Several of them had also moved the Allahabad High Court over the years to retain the ownership of their land in these villages The UP government had formed a special investigation team SIT to probe the legal ownership of the land which had been acquired as some abaadi areas were also wrongly notified for acquisition leading to a situation of conflict between the villagers and GNIDA they said The SIT was formed and probe done amid claims that over the years many native villagers had sold their land to outsiders who were getting the lease back benefit instead of the original owners they added PTI KIS AQS AQS

Noida Sep 29 PTI The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority GNIDA on Wednesday said it has removed a mobile phone tower that was being installed on the roof of a house in a village in Greater Noida without due approvals The action has been taken in pursuance of an order of the Allahabad High Court the GNIDA said warning people against violating guidelines on installation of mobile phone towers without its approval The tower was being installed in Khedi village without permission Some nearby residents had petitioned the High Court seeking the removal of the tower from the residential area GNIDA CEO Narendra Bhooshan said Acting on the order of the court the team of Work Circle 2 of Greater Noida Authority has removed the mobile tower Bhooshan said Officials said permission to install a mobile tower in Greater Noida has to be taken from the local authority and there are certain criteria and a fixed fee on the basis of which approval is granted Like such installations can only be made in certain areas and against Rs 1 lakh fee to be paid by the applicant to the GNIDA If the tower has already been installed and permission sought later then Rs 15 lakh fee would be charged the officials said Mobile phone towers can be allowed only on buildings located in community centres shopping centres commercial institutional and industrial sectors green belts etc as decided by the Planning Department and are not allowed on residential buildings GNIDA said PTI KIS AQS AQS

Noida Sep 29 PTI Two suspected mobile phone snatchers on the prowl were arrested in Noida after a gunfight with the police on Wednesday morning in which one of them suffered gunshot injury officials said Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Noida Ranvijay Singh said the gunfight broke out near a hotel in Sector 56 when the duo on a motorcycle were intercepted by officials of the Sector 58 police station The accused were speeding away on their motorcycle which did not have any registration number on it but were surrounded by police teams They opened gunfire on the police personnel in order to escape but one of them got hit in retaliatory firing and was held The other managed to run away from the spot but was arrested later Singh said The injured accused was sent to a hospital for treatment and later taken into police custody the police said The duo have been identified as Rohit Singh and Siddharth both in their twenties and residents of Morna village in Noida the police said Rohit has seven FIRs related to snatching and theft among others lodged against him at various police stations in Noida while Siddharth faces four cases they said After the encounter on Wednesday the police seized four stolen mobile phones and a country-made pistol along with some bullets from their possession and impounded their motorcycle PTI KIS SMN SMN

Noida Sep 28 PTI Residents of Greater Noida might start getting Ganga water by the end of this year ending their dependence on the groundwater officials said on Tuesday The supply will be made under a special Rs 800-crore project said officials of the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority GNIDA The project was started in 2010 and has missed several deadlines over the years GNIDA CEO Narendra Bhooshan on Tuesday inspected the master reservoir and reviewed the progress of the project which is in its final stages Preparations are underway to soon bring 85 cusecs of Ganga water to Greater Noida through the Ganges canal About Rs 800 crore are being spent on this project and it is expected that the Ganga water would reach Greater Noida homes by the end of this year Bhooshan said With the supply of Ganga water the residents of Greater Noida will be able to get sweet water At present water supply in Greater Noida is being done from groundwater only he added The CEO also directed the officials to beautify the area around the master reservoir with more greenery and by putting wires and cables underground He also instructed them to engrave the story of the descent of the Ganga as per mythologies on the walls of the reservoir complex so that people could be made aware of the Ganga and its purity the GNIDA said in a statement GNIDA General Manager A K Arora Deputy GM Salil Yadav and senior managers Kapil Dev Singh and Rajiv Kumar were present during the CEOs visit to the reservoir PTI KIS AQS AQS

Noida Sep 23 PTI Improper disposal of waste on Thursday landed two housing societies in the net of the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority which has slapped penalties on both for violation of norms after surprise inspection officials saidThe inspection was carried out by the health department on instructions of GNIDA CEO Narendra Bhooshan as the authority continued to take action against entities over waste management they saidIn pursuance of the instructions surprise inspections were held at Express Park View II society in Sector Chi 5 where waste material was found strewn haphazardly The society was issued a fine of Rs 52200 for not conforming to the norms on waste disposal the GNIDA saidAnother violation regarding waste disposal was found at Anand Aashray society in Sector Phi 2 which has been issued a fine of Rs 12200 the authority said in a statementDeputy General Manager Health Department Salil Yadav asked both societies to remit the penalty amount within three working days failing which legal action would be initiated against themHe also asked the societies to get waste properly managed and warned them of doubling the penalty amount for repeat offencesCiting rules the GNIDA said bulk waste generators like housing societies are supposed to manage proper disposal of their garbage on their own and the authority will only pick up inert waste and that too against a fixed monthly feePTI KIS SRY
