In the wake of rising CNG fares in Delhi over the last few months, the Delhi Government Friday approved the revised fare for Auto Rickshaw and Taxi in Delhi. This comes as a relief to nearly two lac Auto Rickshaw and Taxi drivers who had to bear more cost due to recent hikes in the CNG prices.

Bengaluru Dec 27 PTI Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Monday flagged off the states first ever rollout of electric buses for public transportation JBM Auto Ltd will supply 90 electric buses to Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation BMTC for its first electric bus project The JBM ECO-LIFE electric buses will be running under the metro feeder services in the Smart City initiative Earlier this year JBM Auto had received an order of 90 non-AC electric buses for the city of Bengaluru JBM said in a release Stating that 25 buses have been flagged off today out of the first batch of 40 electric buses delivered by the company to BMTC it said the remaining 50 e-buses will be delivered in the coming months This e-bus service marks the first ever rollout of electric buses in the state of Karnataka These buses shall be operated from the Kengeri Yeshwantpur and KR Puram bus depots it added Noting that the non-AC buses have a seating capacity of 33 passengers and a driver JBM said these buses are equipped with six Lithium Nickel Manganese Cobalt Oxide NMC battery packs that make the buses compatible to cover a distance of 120 kms on a single charge with a maximum speed of 70 kmph These buses incorporate all modern features like Real Time Passenger Information System PIS Panic Buttons for emergency Automatic Bus Vehicle Location System CCTV cameras Public address system Stop request buttons to name a few it said JBMs ECO-LIFE electric buses have been running successfully for the last two years in Navi Mumbai under Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport Corporation NNMT A total of 30 ECO-LIFE buses are a part of the NNMT Earlier this year JBM supplied 90 and 15 electric buses in Ahmedabad and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands respectively PTI KSU APR APR

Mumbai Sep 24 PTI The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Transport Authority MMRTA has approved fare revision for prepaid taxis operating at the international and domestic terminals of the airport here as well as for cabs plying on the Mumbai-Pune route an official said on Friday As per the rates approved by MMRTA the minimum fare for prepaid black-and-yellow taxis at the international terminal will be Rs 127 for the first six kilometres while it will be Rs 85 for four kilometres for those operating at the domestic one he said Beyond the minimum distance the fare will change every two kilometres for prepaid taxis operating out of the international and domestic terminals with a panel headed by former IAS official RC Khatua laying down that cabbies will also get an incentive in the range of 10-25 per cent which will keep reducing with the distance slabs The per passenger revised fare for non-AC and AC cabs on the Mumbai-Pune route will be Rs 450 and Rs 525 respectively The revision was decided at a recent MMRTA meeting and it will come into force with immediate effect The fare revision for these segments were due as cab fare within Mumbai was increased on March 1 he informed The official informed that if passengers want the AC on in black-and-yellow taxis they will have to pay 10 per cent higher fare than the per kilometre basic rate whereas the fare will be 20 per cent higher than that of the black-and-yellow taxis for cool cabs and AC taxis the official said Passengers will also have to pay Rs 20 service charge apart from the payable fare the official said The existing fare of Rs 350 per passenger for non-AC and Rs 425 for AC cabs on the Mumbai-Pune segment had remained unchanged since September 2013 As many as 396 licenced cabs operate on the route and unions have been demanding a fare hike since March last year due to rise in fuel and maintenance costs he said Veteran taxi union leader Prem Singh said the fare revision was a welcome move PTI KK BNM BNM BNM
