Treatment for NASH patients has yet to be discovered, owing in part to the lack of suitable and efficient methods for isolating and analysing the characteristics of hepatic stellate cells (HSCs), which have been shown to play a significant role in the progression of NASH-associated liver fibrosis and liver cancer.
