Kolkata Jan 29 PTI West Bengals COVID-19 tally rose to 1990179 on Saturday as 3512 people tested positive for the infection 293 less than the previous day a health bulletin said Thirty-five more patients succumbed to the infection pushing the states coronavirus death toll to 20550 it said The state had registered 3805 cases and 34 fatalities on Friday Of the 3512 cases 459 were reported in Kolkata and 433 in neighbouring North 24 Parganas district Ten fatalities were recorded in North 24 Parganas five in South 24 Parganas four in Hooghly and three in Kolkata The number of active cases dipped by 7811 to 37918 while 1931711 people recovered from the disease so far including 11288 in the last 24 hours The positivity rate stood at 565 per cent as 62125 samples were tested in the last 24 hours taking the total number of such clinical examinations to 23126157 The recovery rate among the coronavirus patients improved to 9706 per cent from 9667 per cent on Friday The mortality rate stood at 103 per cent PTI SUS ACD ACD
Kolkata Jan 22 PTI West Bengal on Saturday recorded 9191 new cases of COVID-19 and 37 fatalities a bulletin of the state health department said The caseload in the infection is now 1958265 The bulletin said the positivity rate improved to 1113 per cent from Fridays 1258 per cent and the number of active cases declined by 11159 to 123657 At least 20313 recoveries were reported in West Bengal in the past 24 hours which improved the discharge rate to 9265 per cent So far 1814306 people have recovered from the disease in the state since the outbreak of the pandemic it said The largest number of COVID-19 fatalities were reported from the city and neighbouring which recorded seven deaths each on Saturday Neighbouring North 24 Parganas district accounted for six deaths Hooghly four three each in South 24 Parganas and Birbhum districts and the rest from other districts of Bengal The total number of deaths in the state due to the pandemic is now 20302 the health department bulletin said The days maximum number of 1489 fresh infections was reported from the city followed by North 24 Parganas with 1360 cases it said Since Friday Bengal tested 82564 samples taking the total number of such clinical examinations to 22706510 the bulletin added On Saturday Bengal administered 480356 vaccines taking the total number of jabs given till date to 117962562 an official said PTI SCH KK KK KK
