Bihar leader of the Opposition Vijay Kumar Sinha on Thursday accused the state government of hiding the actual number of deaths in the Chhapra hooch tragedy by "burning the bodies" without any post-mortem.
Sharing an update on patients admitted after consuming spurious liquor, Dr Sanjay Kumar from the Primary Health Centre on Thursday said, "A total of 47 people were admitted here. Of them, some with minor symptoms were treated and discharged. Many had effects on vision due to toxins. Treatment is underway and, if required, we will refer them to the Sadar hospital."

Union Minister Giriraj Singh on Thursday slammed the Bihar Chief Minister over the hooch tragedy in the state and said that if his policies are not being implemented on the ground then he should resign.
Kushwaha said in his statement, "If the opposition wants to debate and discuss any matter, they are welcome. But it's not right to halt the ongoings of the assembly in such a disruptive manner.''
"People have died in Bihar even before the Liquor ban. People responsible will be punished. Strict action will be taken without any discrimination. we have always taken action against the accused," he said.
