Did you know Bats use death metal “growls” to make social calls?

30-Nov-2022
Bats use distinct structures in the larynx to produce high-frequency echolocation calls and lower-frequency social calls, according to a study by Coen Elemans at the University of Southern Denmark and colleagues, published in the open-access journal PLOS Biology. The structures used to make the low-pitched calls are analogous to those used by death metal vocalists in their growls.

Researchers find gut-brain connection for social development

28-Nov-2022
To learn to socialize, zebrafish need to trust their gut. Gut microbes encourage specialized cells to prune back extra connections in brain circuits that control social behaviour, new UO research in zebrafish shows. Pruning is essential for the development of normal social behavior.

21-Sep-2022
Washington [US], September 21 (ANI): Currently, there are no effective treatments for spinal cord injury; physical rehabilitation can help patients regain some mobility, but the outcomes are severely limited in severe cases due to the failure of spinal neurons to regenerate naturally after injury.
