Gaurika, who has not tasted victory since the seventh leg of the 2019 season, carded 3-under 69, the only under-par round of the day. With Pranavi Urs, her nearest rival, struggling on the back nine with two bogeys and a double bogey, Gaurika snatched a massive six-shot lead with 18 more holes to go.
Seher, who started the day one shot behind Pranavi, caught up with the leader at the turn. Pranavi, playing with Seher, birdied the sixth, as did the latter.
A good solid week for Pranavi showed that she has overcome the injuries which have held her back. She suffered a wrist injury last year and then a few weeks back she had a shoulder problem, due to which she pulled out of the trials for the Asian Games, which have since been postponed to 2023.
Ridhima Dilawari and Neha Tripathi will tee up in the first round of the seventh leg of the Women's Pro Golf Tour 2022 here at Prestige Golfshire in Bengaluru.
