Bhopal Apr 23 PTI A 20-year-old woman was allegedly molested by her two co-passengers in a shared autorickshaw here following which police have registered an offence against three persons including its driver an official said on Saturday The incident occurred on Wednesday night he said The woman hired a shared auto-rickshaw to reach her home in Ashoka Garden area from the coaching class located in MP Nagar area Aishbagh police station in-charge Manishraj Singh Bhadoria said As per the womans complaint when she hired the rickshaw there were two female co-passengers in it But after the two women got off two men boarded the rickshaw and they started molesting her soon after the vehicle started moving he said She resisted their attempts and asked the driver to stop the rickshaw but he kept on driving and took the vehicle into a dark stretch he added The woman mustered courage and jumped off the autorickshaw when it slowed down at a speed-breaker the official said The victim lives in a rented accommodation in Bhopal and is preparing for competitive examinations The accused later fled from the spot Bhadoria said adding that a case under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code IPC has been registered against the three accused including the rickshaw driver and efforts were on to trace and nab them PTI ADU NP NP

Bhopal Feb 23 PTI The COVID-19 tally in Madhya Pradesh rose to 1036498 on Wednesday with 690 new cases while the death toll increased to 10721 as two more patients succumbed to the infection a health department official said The states positivity rate stands at 12 per cent like the previous day he said The recovery count stood at 1020148 after 1231 people recovered during the day The state is now left with 5629 active cases the official said Bhopal and Indore the two worst coronavirus-hit cities of Madhya Pradesh registered 94 and 74 cases respectively during the past 24 hours he said With 67334 samples examined during the day the number of tests in MP went up to 27565629 A government release said that 113388311 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered so far in the state including 108382 on Wednesday The coronavirus figures in MP are as follows Total cases 1036498 new cases 690 death toll 10721 recoveries 1020148 active cases 5629 number of tests so far 27565629 PTI ADU NP NP

Bhopal Dec 26 PTI With the addition of 41 cases the COVID-19 tally in Madhya Pradesh on Sunday rose to 793696 health department officials said The state also reported cases of the Omicron variant of the virus for the first time after nine foreign returnees were found infected in Indore and seven of them have already been discharged post-recovery they said The coronavirus infection recovery count in the state increased to 782912 after 21 patients were discharged from hospitals during the day the officials said The death toll remained unchanged at 10532 as no patient succumbed to the infection in the last 24 hours while the state is now left with 252 active cases As 58993 swab samples were examined during the day the overall number of tests in MP went up to 23391076 the officials added A total of 101313154 anti-coronavirus vaccine doses have been administered in the state so far including 40139 on Sunday The coronavirus figures in MP are as follows Total cases 793696 new cases 41 death toll 10532 recoveries 782912 active cases 252 number of tests so far 23391076 PTI ADU NP NP

Over 33000 cases filed under SCST Atrocities Act in MP in four years Govt data

Bhopal Dec 25 PTI More than 33000 cases have been registered in Madhya Pradesh under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Prevention of Atrocities Act in the the last four years the state government has said The number of cases registered under this Act has gone up in the state in the past two years as per the data provided by Home Minister Narottam Mishra in the state Legislative Assembly on Friday in a written reply to a question asked by Congress MLA Jitu Patwari The data said that 33239 cases under the SCST Prevention of Atrocities Act were registered in a period of around four years between January 2018 and November 2021 At 9664 the highest number of such cases were registered in 2020 while as many as 9249 cases were filed in 11 months of this year A total of 6852 cases were registered under this Act in 2018 while this number was 7474 in 2019 the data said Along with the cases registered under SCST Act Patwari in the same question had also sought information about the annual conviction percentage in the cases related to atrocities against women The reply said that there has been an annual average conviction of 27 per cent of the cases related to atrocities against women in Madhya Pradesh in the last seven years It added that the conviction rate in the cases of atrocities against women was 2716 per cent in 2015 2734 per cent in 2016 2698 per cent in 2017 2315 per cent in 2018 2939 per cent in 2019 2610 per cent in 2020 and 2829 per cent in 2021 PTI ADU NP NP

More than 1300 cases of online fraud filed in MP in five years Govt

Bhopal Dec 25 PTI As many as 1366 cases of online fraud with Rs 5133 crore involved have been registered in Madhya Pradesh in the last five years the state government has said State Home Minister Narottam Mishra revealed these figures in the Legislative Assembly on Friday in a written reply to a question asked by the BJP legislator Yashpal Singh Sisodiya The number of online fraud cases including those under the Information Technology Act has constantly rising over the past five years the reply said A total of 1366 cases of online fraud have been registered since January 2017 in Madhya Pradesh The amount involved in these online fraud cases stands at Rs 513386577 it said In 2017 as many as 170 cases of online fraud were registered which went up to 211 next year Similarly the cases further increased to 245 in 2019 while this number went up to 338 in 2020 registering an increase of 37 per cent The data said that in 2021 up to the question submission date 402 cases of online fraud were registered in the state This year the amount involved in the online fraud cases is also the highest in the last five years at Rs 2685 crore the data said The reply also said that a total of 3191 cases of cyber crime were registered during this five-year period PTI ADU NP NP

Bhopal Dec 18 PTI The district administration in Madhya Pradeshs Jabalpur has saved land worth Rs 250 crore belonging to a local temple from the clutches of land mafia an official said The district administration has now declared the land as non-transferrable and decided to take over the management of Mahadev Mandir Trust following complaints of land bungling said Sub Divisional Magistrate SDM Namah Shivay Arjaria in an official statement on Friday The trust owned 23 acres of land including 16 acres in Bandhaiya Mohalla and seven acres in Nimora village Of this the market value of the 16-acre land in Bandhaiya Mohalla is around Rs 250 crore he said After receiving a complaint of land bungling of the trust which was established in 1958 district collector Karmveer Sharma had ordered an inquiry During the inquiry it was found that the trust management was careless in managing its properties Arjaria said As part of the alleged bungling of the temples valuable land Rs 92 lakh were received from one Hamid Hassan a resident of South Miloniganj on different dates in year 2019 in the bank account of the trust he said Arjaria said this transaction was illegal as prior permission of the authority concerned was needed in case of transaction of more than Rs 5000 as per the Public Trust Act Some other instances of bungling included the names of the trustees were not changed in the government records despite the death of some of them he said After the inquiry found that the allegations of bungling were right a committee headed by tehsildar Rajesh Singh was formed for running the management of Mahadev Mandir Trust A letter is also being written to the Income Tax about the receipt of Rs 92 lakh into the trust s bank account from Hamid Hussain he said PTI ADU NP NP

Bhopal Oct 31 PTI Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra on Sunday issued a 24-hour ultimatum to fashion and jewellery designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee to withdraw the advertisement with objectionable and obscene portrayal of mangalsutra or else face statutory action Last week Dabur India Private Limited had withdrawn its Fem cream bleach advertisement which showed same-sex couple celebrating Karva Chauth and watching each other through a sieve after minister Mishra termed the ad as objectionable and warned that legal steps would be taken against it The mangalsutra advertisement by Sabyasachis brand portrayed a woman wearing a low-neckline dress and posing solo and in intimate position with a man After the designer shared these pictures it created a controversy as a section of social media users termed it against Hindu culture and obscene Talking to reporters at Datia in the state Mishra said I have warned earlier about such advertisements I am personally warning designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee giving him a 24-hour ultimatum If this objectionable and obscene advertisement is not withdrawn then a case will be registered against him and legal action will be taken The police force will be sent for the action Mishra said that he saw Sabyasachi Mukherjees mangalsutra advertisement It is very objectionable Mangalsutra is a jewellery of paramount importance We believe that the yellow part of the mangalsutra signifies Goddess Parvati and the black part Lord Shiva which protects the woman and her husband Marital life becomes happy by the grace of Goddess Parvati he said Mangalsutra is a necklace worn by married Hindu women Replying to a question about the requirement of law to check such incidents the minister said The law is already in place But why do such painful incidents take place only with Hindu symbols If Mukherjee has courage he should do it with some other religion then we will understand that he is a real brave man While sharing the promotional photos of the advertisement Sabyasachis official Instagram page wrote Introducing the Royal Bengal Mangalsutra 12 and the Bengal Tiger Icon collection of necklaces earrings bracelets and signet rings in 18k gold with VVS diamonds black onyx opals and black enamel The designer has not given any statement on the ministers warning so far PTI ADU NP NP
