Nashik Apr 24 PTI Not a single case of COVID-19 infection or death due to it was reported in Nashik district of Maharashtra in the last two days officials said on Sunday With no addition on both the counts on Saturday and Sunday the infection tally in Nashik remained unchanged at 476040 and death toll at 8899 they said So far 467128 patients have recovered in the district and the number of patients undergoing treatment in the district has come down to 13 the officials added PTI COR NP NP

Raipur Apr 24 PTI Chhattisgarh on Sunday reported two fresh coronavirus positive cases taking the states tally to 1152235 an official said The death toll remained unchanged at 14034 as no fresh fatality was reported due to the infection during the day The states COVID-19 positivity rate stood at 020 per cent he said The recovery count in Chhattisgarh also remained unchanged at 1138183 as none of the people were discharged or completed their home isolation during the day leaving the state with 18 active cases he said Bilaspur and Surguja districts recorded one case each No new coronavirus cases were reported in 26 districts As on Sunday no active cases were reported in 18 districts of the state the official said With 979 samples examined during the day the tally of tests carried out so far in Chhattisgarh went up to 17614802 he added Chhattisgarhs coronavirus figures are as follows Positive cases 1152235 new cases two death toll 14034 recoveries 1138183 active cases 18 total tests 17614802 PTI COR NP NP

Nashik Apr 21 PTI A 46-year-old woman was killed in a blast of an LPG cylinder in Maharashtras Nashik city police said on Thursday The incident occurred late on Wednesday night Victim Archana Singh was cooking food for the family around 10 pm on Wednesday at her residence in Satpur locality when she noticed that gas was leaking from the cylinder However even before she could rush out a fire broke out and triggered a blast a police official said The house was gutted in the fire and the woman received 90 per cent burn injuries he said When she was rushed to a hospital doctors declared her dead the official said Her daughter also received 20 per cent burn injuries in the incident and was admitted to a private hospital police said A case has been registered at Satpur police station and further investigation is on PTI COR NP NP

Thane Mar 31 PTI A case has been registered against an assistant police inspector for allegedly abetting the suicide of a man and his 11-year-old daughter at Asangaon in Thane district of Maharashtra an official said on Thursday The FIR against API R S Kshirsagar posted at Shahapur police station was filed on Wednesday he said The 36-year-old man and his daughter committed suicide by hanging themselves at their residence during the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday The man identified as Vikas Kedare had left a a two-page suicide note in which he held the officer responsible for the extreme step the official said According to police Kedares wife had allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison in August last year The police had arrested Kedare and his mother in connection with her death After being in jail four months he walked out of it in January Kedare mentioned in his suicide note that the police were trying to falsely implicate him in the case of his wifes suicide and hence he was ending his life along with his daughter police said Shahapurs Deputy Superintedent of Police Navnath Dhavle had earlier said that the relatives of the deceased have raised certain issues which are being probed API Kshirsagar has been booked under Indian Penal Code IPC sections 305 abetment to suicide of child and 306 abetment of suicide they said PTI COR NP NP
