Jodhpur Mar 24 PTI The High court has expressed its displeasure over doctors having their original postings in rural areas but are working on deputation in cities for long Taking a serious note of the situation the court on Wednesday directed the state government to send back all such doctors to their original places of posting as rural areas continue to face a crippling shortage of medical experts The division bench of Justice Sandeep Mehta and Justice Vinod Kumar Bharwani has also directed the state to submit compliance report of its previous order in this regard during the next hearing on April 13 The court gave these directions in a suo moto petition after taking cognisance of media reports which highlighted that an acute shortage of doctors and medical staff in rural areas had paralysed medical services there The reports indicate that doctors who have been posted in rural hospitals are avoiding their duties and have managed to secure deputation postings in the city hospitals the bench observed In its order the court stated The state government shall ensure that as far as possible all such doctors who are on deputation in cities even though their actual place of posting is in rural hospitals are released from deputation and directed to rejoin duties on the regular posts The court also directed the additional advocate general to place on record during the next hearing the actual position regarding the number of doctors placed in rural hospitals but managed to secure deputation postings in cities PTI CORR CJ CJ
Jodhpur Mar 18 PTI An Army man has been booked on charges of attempting to rape a colleagues wife while four officers have been named in the FIR for allegedly trying to threaten the couple and hush up the matter The victim also alleged that the Army police which was sent to them by the officers instead of taking action against the accused harassed them and forced them to give a wrong statement in order to protect him Two days after the alleged incident the victim and her soldier husband lodged a complaint against the accused and four officers two of the rank of Colonel and two Majors at the Ratanada police station here The Army said it has initiated an internal inquiry by military authorities and also assured cooperation and assistance to Ratanada police in a fair investigation The victim in her complaint stated that she lived in the cantonment area with her husband who serves in the Army as a soldier On March 14 evening a subedar came to her house when she was taking a bath and tried to molest her When she raised the alarm her husband who was around came to her rescue Both of them tried to catch the subedar but he managed to flee station house officer Bharat Rawat said citing the victims complaint According to Rawat the complaint further stated that the couple immediately informed the seniors in the Army who not only discouraged them against raising the issue but also forced them to keep mum The victim also alleged that the officers tried their best to keep her and her husband confined to their house so that did not venture out seeking action against the accused Also the victim complained that the five people should be held responsible if anything untoward happened to them Defence spokesperson Lt Col Amitabh Sharma said The Indian Army has taken cognizance of a case in which the wife of a serving soldier staying in Jodhpur Military Station has filed an FIR making serious allegations against another serving soldier and other personnel PTI CORR CJ CJ

Ghaziabad Jan 21 PTI Two men who allegedly swindled Rs 28 lakh from a jeweller were nabbed here on Friday police said During a routine check at the Hapur road trisection here police from GT Road Kotwali intercepted a vehicle and recovered the money 10 mobile phones and as many sim cards and five fake AADHAAR cards they said During interrogation the accused Fazlur Rehman and Rahisudeen both in their 50s revealed that they had hoodwinked a jeweller in Madhya Pradeshs Bhopal by promising him 12 kg gold ash for just Rs 28 lakh city superintendent of police first Nipun Agarwal said To convince the jeweller the accused showed him a box of original gold ash and they promised to supply the assured quantity after receiving the money The SP said the duo has admitted to having duped several jewellers in the past Rehman had five fake AADHAAR cards with his photo but different addresses and he used these to ascertain his identity to the jewellers the officer said The original sample of gold ash was recovered from them he said PTI CORR CJ CJ
Faridabad Dec 22 PTI Three masked men barged into a bank and fled away with Rs 184 lakh cash in Faridabad Central area on Wednesday police said Two more thefts were reported shortly within 1 km from the bank they said Around 1245 pm three motorcycle-borne masked men barged into Canara Bank in Sector 15 through the back gate They held the cashier hostage at gunpoint and executed the loot The incident has been captured on CCTV police said adding they have launched a search to nab the accused Even as the police were examining the footage they received another complaint of theft at an ATM in Sector 14 No sooner did a woman withdraw Rs 5000 from the ATM than a man barged into the kiosk and snatched the money He also took away the motorcycle of a man who tried to thwart him by pointing a country-made gun Police said they have identified the accused PTI CORR CJ CJ
