New Delhi Oct 22 PTI The defence ministry has signed a contract with the US government to procure MK 54 torpedo and expendables such as chaff and flares for the Indian Navys anti-submarine warfare aircraft P-8I at a cost of Rs 423 crore its spokesperson said on Friday The Indian Navy has a total of 11 P-8I aircraft which are manufactured by US aerospace company Boeing in its fleet In addition to anti-submarine warfare capabilities the P-8I aircraft is known for its advance maritime reconnaissance capabilities The Ministry of Defence signed a contract with the US government under ForeignMilitarySale FMS for procurement of MK 54 Torpedo and Expendable Chaff and Flares for the Indian Navy at a cost of Rs 423 crore defence ministrys spokesperson said on Twitter These weapons are the outfit of P-8I aircraft the spokesperson added PTI DSP ZMN ZMN

New Delhi Oct 19 PTI IndiGo on Tuesday cautioned candidates to be cognizant of fake job offers saying certain people are using the name of airlines employees to demand money in exchange for interviews jobs or trainings In a statement the airline stated The airline does not charge any money for conducting interviews providing jobs or imparting trainings on joining IndiGo strictly advises to report the matter to the police if someone asks for money and promises a job at the airline IndiGo is also taking appropriate actions for cases that get reported along with spreading awareness the statement mentioned The carrier said it is conducting anti-fake jobs campaign across social media to raise awareness on how certain people claiming to represent IndiGo are misusing the brand name and the names of its employees to demand money in exchange for jobs interviews or trainings We believe that as the market leader it is our responsibility to identify and control such malpractices that not just impact IndiGo but also other companies in the sector IndiGo CEO Ronojoy Dutta said We have been working in close collaboration with law enforcement department to identify these offenders with success in the past We hope to put an end to this menace with support from the police department and awareness amongst people he added PTI DSP ZMN ZMN

New Delhi Sep 28 PTI American Airlines and IndiGo on Tuesday announced that they have entered into a codeshare agreement which allows the former to sell seats on the Indian carriers flights operating on 29 routes The codeshare which will require US and Indian governments approvals is expected to begin in October as American launches new service between New York JFK and Delhi on October 31 this year and between Seattle SEA and Bengaluru on January 4 2022 the joint statement mentioned The one-way codeshare agreement will place Americans code on 29 of IndiGos domestic routes providing a convenient option for American Airlines customers to travel within India after landing in Bengaluru or Delhi This means that once the one-way codeshare agreement comes into force American will be able sell seats -- on its distribution system -- of IndiGo flights on the 29 selected routes In a two-way codeshare agreement each airline on its distribution system can sell seats of others flights Currently IndiGo has a two-way codeshare agreement with Turkish Airlines and a one-way codeshare partnership with Qatar Airways Vasu Raja Chief Revenue Officer American Airlines said Whether our customers are traveling for business or pleasure this new partnership makes it easy to reach all four corners of India Today were adding 29 new routes to our map as a result of this agreement providing customers with even more options around the globe Raja mentioned IndiGo is Indias largest airline by number of passengers carried With its fleet of 275 aircraft the airline operates more than 1100 daily flights connecting 70 domestic destinations and 24 international destinations PTI DSP ZMN ZMN
