Indore Mar 23 PTI An FIR was registered against a man on Wednesday for allegedly putting three stray puppies roaming near his residence in Indore in a sack and dragging them to some distance leading to the death of one of the canines and leaving another seriously injured police said on Wednesday A complaint was filed by animal rights activist Priyanshu Jain in Lasudia police station after the video of the incident which occurred on March 19 went viral on social media The accused is identified as Suyash Thakur an official said adding that an FIR was registered under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act but no arrest is made Thakur allegedly put three puppies in a sack dragged them to a distance and dumped them at the Gyanshila square where one of them was found dead the other seriously injured while the third one is missing the official said quoting the complaint PTI HWP MAS NSK NSK

Indore Mar 23 PTI Students of the Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya DAVV created ruckus on not getting an opportunity to receive their degrees personally from Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangu Bhai Patel because of time constraint during the convocation ceremony on Wednesday leading the latter to stay back and hand over the degreesEyewitnesses said after the ruckus the Governor who is also the chancellor of state universities changed his programme and handed over the degrees and medals to all eligible studentsMadhya Pradesh higher education minister Mohan Yadav who attended the ceremony later told reporters There is a time limit in a programme of the Governor The number of students who were supposed to get their degrees was on a higher side Yadav said on his request Patel agreed to stay back for the programme beyond his original schedule and complete the degree and medal presentation formalitiesAn official of the DAVV said in the convocation ceremony 148 research scholars were supposed to be given PhD degrees and a total of 113 graduate and under-graduate students were to get gold medals for academic excellenceThe Governor had given 90 minutes for the convocation during which 50 PhD scholars and 50 meritorious students were supposed to get their degrees and medals respectively he saidThe rest were to get their degrees and medals from the vice-chancellor the official saidDuring the ruckus a woman research scholar was spotted crying and saying she had come all the way from Mumbai to receive her degree from the Governor but was not called on the dais PTI HWP MAS RSY RSY

3000 cycles to become part of Indores public transport system in phases

Indore Mar 21 PTI Aiming to reduce air pollution in the countrys cleanest city Indore 3000 cycles will be added to the public transport system in phases Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan virtually inaugurated the first phase of this project costing Rs 10 crore on Monday Officials said that this project named Indore Public Bicycle System will be operated on a public-private partnership PPP basis and state-of-the-art bicycles will be provided to the common people on rent With the addition of cycles to the public transport system of Indore the environment will be protected the consumption of petrol and diesel will be reduced and the people will also stay healthy the chief minister said Officials said the local administration will provide 3000 bicycles on rent to the general public at city transport bus stops and other major public places in a phased manner He said that the lock of these cycles would open and close with the help of a mobile application and these cycles would be equipped with GPS so that the local administration would keep an eye on their movement Officials said that such a cycle will be available to the common people for 10 hours for just Rs 10 The monthly rent for these bicycles is Rs 349 Chouhan also inaugurated via video link the newly-constructed building of the Sarvateb bus stand in the city Built at the cost of Rs 1480 crore in an area of 7878 square meters the new terminal will operate 500 buses daily Chouhan also laid a foundation stone for two water-treatment plants to be constructed with an estimated cost of Rs 7933 crore The facility will treat sewage water to make it reusable PTI HWP MAS NSK NSK

Indore Jan 26 PTI With an aim to boost start-ups in Madhya Pradesh the state government will soon unveil a policy including a venture capital fund to promote innovative business ideas Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said on Wednesday If we want to turn India into a 5000-billion-dollar economy then we will have to encourage start-ups Therefore we have decided that we will soon present the states new start-up policy Chouhan said while interacting with Start in Indore conclave participants To support start-ups the state government will establish a venture capital fund and through it innovative ideas in business will be promoted Chouhan said capital is the basic requirement of any enterprise and therefore the government will consider providing guarantees to banks for granting loans to start-ups The government is also thinking of organising a global investors meet for start-ups Chouhan said adding he has decided to spare one hour every month to have a dialogue with start-up entrepreneurs to resolve the problems being faced by them After hearing the success stories of a few start-ups the visibly happy chief minister said I wish that Indore should become a start-up capital of the country Chouhan also directed the Indore Development Authority IDA CEO to formulate a policy for providing space to the start-ups at concessional rates PTI HWP MAS RSY ABM ABM

Indore Jan 21 PTI A mega plant established in Indore in Madhya Pradesh will be operational in 15-20 days and start producing bio-CNG from 550 tonnes of liquid waste generated every day in the city Indore Municipal Corporation IMC commissioner Pratibha Pal said on Friday Touted as the largest such facility in Asia by local civic officials the plant will produce 18000 kilograms of bio-CNG which will be used to power IMCs transport buses as well as a large quantity of compost Testing of machinery at the bio-CNG plant has been completed We are hoping to start production with full capacity in the next 15-20 days Pal told reporters It has been established over a 15-acre trenching ground in Devguradia area at an investment of Rs 150 crore with the IMC not having to spend a single rupee on the plant and the private firm paying the civic body Rs 25 crore per year in lieu of liquid waste As per the agreement with the firm bio-CNG will be made available to the IMC at Rs 5 less than prevailing market rates for green gas officials informed The city has a population of 35 lakh and facilities have been created for safe disposal of 600 tonnes each of dry and liquid waste they said adding that Indore which has been named Indias cleanest city in the Centres Swachh Survekshan works on a 3R model of reduce-reuse-recycle PTI HWP MAS BNM BNM BNM

Indore Nov 19 PTI Seven outlets in Sarafa Bazar in Indore in Madhya Pradesh were sealed by the district administration after it was found that 15 staffers had not taken the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine despite the due date having passed an official said on Friday These establishments are run by persons hailing from West Bengal he said During a probe we found 15 employees of seven establishments in Sarafa Bazar were not fully vaccinated despite their due date for the second dose having passed The administration had requested association functionaries to get their members fully vaccinated but they have failed to do so Sub Divisional Magistrate SDM Akshay Singh Markam said In view of public health these seven establishments were sealed They will be allowed to open only when their owners submit documents certifying the fully vaccinated status of these 15 people he added Indore had the highest number of cases in the state with officials informing that 3030 lakh vaccine doses have been administered with 2248 lakh getting the second jab as well Six lakh people have not taken their second dose despite being eligible for it they added PTI HWP MAS BNM BNM BNM
