Noida Apr 25 PTI The police on Monday launched a probe into the fire incident at Gautam Buddh Nagar chief medical officers office here on April 22 in which several documents including birth and death registration certificates were destroyed officials saidThe first information report FIR into the incident was lodged at the Sector 39 police station three days after the fire broke out at the CMOs office on the complaint of Fire Station Officer Noida Phase I Sanjeev Kumar Singh they saidAccording to the FIR the blaze had started from the office of the registrar birth and death certificates around 226 PM and the first fire tender was rushed to the spot around 227 PM after which the flames were brought under control in some timeOfficials of the CMO office and related branches were present at the site but some documents computers furniture was destroyed in the fire A large portion of the premises was saved by the firefighters it statedSince the fire broke out in a government office which had several important documents and records which got destroyed the involvement of any individual or ill-intention cannot be ruled out the FIR statedA police official who confirmed the registration of the FIR told PTI that an investigation in the case is underway PTI KIS TDS TDS

Noida Apr 19 PTI Three suspects belonging to a gang which stole diesel from vehicles especially trucks parked along highways were arrested in Uttar Pradeshs Greater Noida on Tuesday police said The police have also impounded a canter truck which had a separate storage space of around 1000 litres in which the gang would store the stolen fuel they said The accused were held near the Faleda cut on Yamuna Expressway by the Rabupura police station officials The gang would target vehicles especially transport trucks parked along roads with drivers and their helpers restingThe gang would steal fuel from the vehicles and in case the driver or helper woke up the accused brandished firearms to intimidate them a police spokesperson said Those held have been identified as Hadan and Nadeem both Greater Noida locals and Afzal a native of Dholana in Hapur district the police said An FIR has been lodged in the case at the Rabupura police station and further legal proceedings are being carried out the police added PTI KIS TDS TDS

Noida Mar 21 PTI The Gautam Buddh Nagar traffic police issued over 3600 e-challans to vehicle owners post Holi over various violations of road traffic rules like wrong lane driving red light jumping not using helmet or seat belt officials saidThe e-challans were issued on instructions of Police Commissioner Alok Singh during a special campaign on Sunday to check violation of traffic rules on Noida and Greater Noida roads they saidAction was taken against 3677 vehicles and e-challans issued in all these cases where traffic rules were flouted During the campaign police officials were deployed at all intersections and other important locations where they checked the offenders a police spokesperson saidAmong those issued challans were two-wheeler riders not wearing helmet or riding triple on motorcycle or scooters and those on four-wheelers not wearing seat belt Action was also taken in cases of wrong lane driving or riding parking vehicles in no-parking zones faulty number plates use of mobile phones while driving red light jumping among others the spokesperson saidMeanwhile the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police appealed to people to follow the traffic rules so that they can save themselves and their families from being victims of road accidentsAccording to official figures over 2000 lives have been lost in 4600 road crashes across Noida and Greater Noida in the last five years PTI KIS SRY

Noida Jan 28 PTI The police in Gautam Buddh Nagar have impounded a Mercedes car after Rs 250 lakh unaccounted cash was recovered from it officials said on Friday The seizure was made in Greater Noidas Bisrakh area on Thursday a day after the police in adjoining Noida impounded a Porsche car in a similar case the officials said In view of the upcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh the police has stepped up vigilance across Noida and Greater Noida to keep a check on malpractices A Mercedes car was intercepted near the Tigri roundabout on Thursday by a joint team of personnel from the Bisrakh police station and the static surveillance team SST On inspection Rs 250 lakh cash was recovered from the vehicle a police spokesperson said When questioned about the money the car occupant identified as Amandeep Singh could not present any document or satisfactory response Hence the cash was seized the spokesperson said According to officials while the occupant was released after questioning the Mercedes car was impounded No one approached the local police till Friday evening for its release Further legal proceedings in the case were underway the officials said PTI KIS VN VN
