Noida Jan 24 PTI Of the 23 candidates for assembly polls from Noida seat in Uttar Pradeshs Gautam Buddh Nagar the nomination of 10 were rejected during the scrutiny on Monday district election officials said Among those rejected are candidates of seven parties and three independents leaving 13 nominees including the sitting MLA Pankaj Singh of BJP and just one woman candidate in the fray Altogether 52 candidates had submitted their nominations from the three assembly seats of Noida 23 Dadri 16 and Jewar 13 in the district till January 21 Two nominations from Dadri and one from Jewar have also been rejected the officials said In view of the assembly polls scheduled on February 10 and guidelines of the Election Commission the scrutiny of nominations was done under supervision of District Magistrate Suhas L Yathiraj who is also the District Election Officer they saidFrom Noida seat the nominations of Sanjeev Kumar Goswami of Sarva Samaj Party Rajkumar Agarwal of Shiv Sena Ghanshyam of Bharatiya Mahasangh Party Deepmala Srivastava of Public Political Party Kishor Singh of Bharatiya Insan Party Diblu Singh Choudhary of Al Hind Party Kush Kumar Srivastava of Bharatiya Jan Jagriti Party have been rejected because of incomplete forms District Information Officer Rakesh Singh Chauhan said The nominations of independent candidates Sanjay Sharma Sunil Kumar and Arpana Sharma have also been rejected for similar reasons he said From Dadri the nomination of Virendra Singh Prajapati of Jan Adhikar Party was rejected for lack of notary while Aam Jan Seva Partys Yoonus nomination papers were not filled correctly Chauhan said In Jewar the nomination papers of Bharatiya Jan Jagriti Partys Manoj Rai were rejected because they did not have his signature neither the signature of his proposers he added After the scrutiny 39 candidates including the sitting MLAs are left in fray for the elections in the three assembly seats that are due on February 10 The last date for withdrawal of candidature is February 27 Election results would be declared on March 10 PTI KIS RCJ RCJ

Noida Dec 28 PTI A three-year-old girl who had gone missing from her home four days ago was found dead in an under-construction building in Noida on Tuesday police saidThe body bears injury marks and has been sent for post-mortem while an investigation has also been launched in the case Gautam Buddh Nagars Deputy Commissioner of Police Women and Child Safety Vrinda Shukla saidThe girl lived here with her grandmother Her father is lodged in a jail since last two years in a criminal case while her mother stays in Budaun district as the couple had a dispute regarding the custody of the girl Shukla saidThe childs grandmother had approached the local Phase-2 police station on December 25 stating that the three-year-old girl had gone missing according to officialsAn FIR was immediately filed and searches carried out by multiple police teams including one which went to the home of her maternal grandparents in Budaun the officials saidIn pursuance of the case the local police were alerted by the girls relatives on Tuesday about presence of a young girls body in an under-construction building near Ilahabas village DCP Shukla saidThe police checked the building and found the body which bore some injury marks The body has been sent for post mortem and further legal proceedings would be carried out accordingly she addedThe police have detained some suspects for questioning the officer said adding further investigation is underway PTI KIS RCJ RCJ

Elderly doctor wife found dead in Greater Noida flat

Noida Dec 22 PTI A 58-year-old doctor and his 56-year-old wife who were involved in a property-related dispute in Delhi were found dead at their home in Greater Noida police said on WednesdayTheir bodies were found Tuesday night by their family and the duo appears to have ended their lives by consuming poison Deputy Commissioner of Police Central Noida Harish Chander saidThe local Surajpur police station officials were alerted last night about the couple being found dead at their home A team of forensic experts and senior officials immediately reached the couples flat in a housing society he saidA suicide note was found from the spot in which the couple detailed out their situation The note and its assertions are being verified The couples son has also been contacted and he has also shared some inputs the officer saidApparaently the couple died of consuming some poisonous substance It has come to light that the doctor and his wife lived in Kirti Nagar in Delhi and had moved to Greater Noida in August this year They were engaged in a property-related dispute in Delhi with the issue causing them tension DCP Chander saidNames of some persons have been mentioned in the suicide note as accused and their details are being worked out the officer said adding further legal proceedings in the case are underway PTI KIS RCJ RCJ
