New Delhi Jan 18 PTI BJP MP Rita Bahuguna Joshi on Tuesday said if her son is seeking the partys ticket to fight Uttar Pradesh assembly election then it was his right to do so but maintained that she is not lobbying for his candidature Joshi the Lok Sabha MP from Allahabad was in Delhi where she met Bharatiya Janata Partys Uttar Pradesh in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan She described it as a courtesy call and one to discuss party issues Speculation is rife that Joshis son Mayank Joshi is trying hard to get the BJPs ticket to fight the assembly election from Lucknow Cantt the seat his mother had won in the 2017 state polls but vacated in 2019 after she was elected to the Lok Sabha from Allahabad The BJPs Suresh Chandra Tiwari had won the Lucknow Cantt seat in the bye-election of 2019 defeating Samajwadi Partys Aparna Yadav the younger daughter-in-law of party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav After the meeting Joshi said her son expecting BJP ticket is a separate story and she had visited Pradhan to discuss zonal issues related to the party ahead of the UP polls If hes asking for a party ticket then its his right to seek it But that is not the issue I had discussed today I have already said that I do not intend to fight the 2024 Lok Sabha elections In fact I do not want to fight any polls Joshi told reporters I am not lobbying for my son The party has his profile and will decide accordingly she added Lucknow Cantt is one of the nine assembly constituencies in Lucknow district and has a sizeable chunk of Hindu Brahmin voters Polling in Lucknow Cantt is scheduled on February 23 in the fourth phase of elections in Uttar Pradesh The election results will be out on March 10 PTI KIS SMN SMN
Noida Nov 18 PTI With the arrest of three men the Noida Police on Thursday claimed to have busted a prostitution racket in the city being operated via Whatsapp Three women have also been apprehended and their role in the racket is being investigated the police said The prostitution racket has been busted by the Anti Human Trafficking Unit AHTU of the police here Three men who dealt with clients have been arrested while their fourth partner is absconding a police spokesperson said Three women have been apprehended in connection with the case but their role is being investigated further the spokesperson added According to the official the dealers have confessed to the police that they reached out to the clients online and through Whatsapp The dealers contacted possible clients through Whatsapp and if a deal was fixed they charged Rs 3000 per client of which Rs 1000 went to the women involved the spokesperson said Those arrested have been identified as Anurag Daanvendra and Shailendra Yadav the police said adding they have seized Rs 3500 and three mobile phones from the accused An FIR has been lodged at the Sector 49 police station and legal proceedings initiated the police added PTI KIS SMN SMN
Noida Oct 21 PTI Over 100 industrial plots which had gone missing from official maps for allotment in Uttar Pradeshs Greater Noida have been found and are expected to fetch around Rs 1500 crore to the government thanks to technology These plots are believed to have been part of previous land allotment schemes but remained unallotted and were not included in subsequent schemes either the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority GNIDA said The plots -- 108 in total -- have been found with the help of OneMap a detailed geographic information system GIS map which is still in trial version the GNIDA said in a statement These plots are valued at around Rs 400 crore but expected to fetch Rs 1500 crore through allotment and may also generate an estimated 4000 employment opportunities in the region the GNIDA which functions under the Industrial Development Ministry said Senior IAS officer and GNIDA CEO Narendra Bhooshan who is monitoring the OneMap project said the plots are located in Sector Ecotech 6 and 11 of Greater Noida He has also directed officials to scrutinise more plots in categories like industrial institutional and residential which could be missing The officer said the work on OneMap -- developed by GNIDA and National Informatics Centre NIC officials -- had started one and half years ago and it got completed during the COVID-19 pandemic only It has been linked to GNIDAs website wwwgreaternoidaauthorityin By clicking on it all the information will come in front of the user For example clicking on the Citizen column will reveal where the bus stops and police stations post offices public toilets are located in Greater Noida Bhooshan said Finding other locations in Greater Noida such as Pari Chowk Jaypee Greens India Expo Mart City Park etc are also easy One can also see the details of each plot located in the sector and its allottee from the One Map he said One can also see how many plots are vacant for residential industry institutional commercial IT etc and get a plot by applying through the scheme according to their need he added According to officials OneMap works on single-point data collection and has consolidated the data of all the departments in one place The layout is taken out from the planning cell of the authority and is projected on the data received from the drone they said One Map layout and collates data from MIS Management Information System puts unmatched plots in the list of vacant plots making it easier for the authority to know about vacant plots an official said The CEO or other senior officers can see it whenever they want The authority has stored images and data of the city through satellite as well as drones the official added PTI KIS SMN SMN
Noida Sep 29 PTI Two suspected mobile phone snatchers on the prowl were arrested in Noida after a gunfight with the police on Wednesday morning in which one of them suffered gunshot injury officials said Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Noida Ranvijay Singh said the gunfight broke out near a hotel in Sector 56 when the duo on a motorcycle were intercepted by officials of the Sector 58 police station The accused were speeding away on their motorcycle which did not have any registration number on it but were surrounded by police teams They opened gunfire on the police personnel in order to escape but one of them got hit in retaliatory firing and was held The other managed to run away from the spot but was arrested later Singh said The injured accused was sent to a hospital for treatment and later taken into police custody the police said The duo have been identified as Rohit Singh and Siddharth both in their twenties and residents of Morna village in Noida the police said Rohit has seven FIRs related to snatching and theft among others lodged against him at various police stations in Noida while Siddharth faces four cases they said After the encounter on Wednesday the police seized four stolen mobile phones and a country-made pistol along with some bullets from their possession and impounded their motorcycle PTI KIS SMN SMN
Noida Sep 17 PTI The Noida Authority on Friday directed officials to ensure that promoters of group housing projects in the city hand over charge of public spaces and facilities to apartment owners associations AOAs by September 30 Noida Authority CEO Ritu Maheshwari issued the direction after a meeting here on the builder-buyers issues with AOAs and real estate developers including Supertech Group Mahagun Group Prateek Group ATS RG Residency Sunshine Infrawell and Perfect Propbuild During the meeting it came to light that promoters in several projects have not yet completed the process of handing over the societies to the AOAs In some cases the IMFS interest-free maintenance and security funds have not been handed over to the AOAs the authority said in a statement In some cases maintenance work in projects is not completed while in others the sewage treatment plants STPs are not functional It also came to light that in some projects dues towards water and sewage facilities are pending it said In view of the above Maheshwari directed officials to communicate to the builders and ensure that the societies are handed over to AOAs by September 30 in projects that have AOAs established it stated If there is non-compliance by the builder the CEO directed for legal action against them and seal their unsold inventories In projects that do not have STPs public spaces and club houses should be sealed so that untreated waste does not reach drainage system according to the statement PTI KIS SMN SMN
