Commuter satisfaction survey to begin from Monday Delhi Metro

New Delhi Mar 27 PTI Starting Monday commuters of the Delhi Metro can participate in an online survey conducted by a global transport body across various parameters including availability accessibility and security officials said on Sunday The Transport Strategy Centre TSC London which manages the CoMET Community of Metros will be conducting the Ninth Online Customer Satisfaction Survey from March 28 to May 1 they said The main objective of the survey is to know what the commuters think about various aspects of metro operations and can give feedback or suggestions on improving the quality of service the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation DMRC said in a statement Commuters who wish to participate in the survey can visit DMRCs official website and submit it online by clicking the relevant links The survey form will be available in both English and Hindi it said The statement said that the commuters will be able to give their feedback on all the important aspects of metro functioning such as -- availability accessibility reliability information availability quality of service customer care safety and security ease of use information prior to travel and during the travel comfort and crowding Member metros of the COMET group across the world are participating in this survey to find out what their passengers think of the service they provide The results of the survey will help them to learn good practices which are admired by commuters and work toward giving customers even better service it added PTI KND CK

New Delhi Feb 25 PTI Delhi on Friday reported 460 fresh COVID-19 cases and two deaths due to the disease while the positivity rate dropped to 081 per cent according to data shared by the city health department With this the national capitals infection tally increased to1858614 and the death toll climbed to26117 the latest health bulletin stated The number of COVID-19 tests conducted a day ago stood at 56984 it said Delhi had on Thursday reported 556 cases with a positivity rate of 110 per cent and six deaths The number of daily cases in Delhi has been on the decline after touching the record high of 28867 on January 13 The city had recorded a positivity rate of 306 per cent on January 14 the highest during the ongoing wave of the pandemic PTI KND CK

New Delhi Jan 28 PTI Using an innovative technique doctors have surgically removed a tumour from the face of a 46-year-old cancer patient in a scarless surgery at a private facility here hospital authorities claimed on Friday The team of doctors approached his oral cavity by making four small holes measuring 8 mm each under the patients collar bone His cancer presented as an ulcer on the right lower cheeks and tongue they said The operation was performed in December at the BLK-Max Hospital in central Delhi led by Dr Surender Kumar Dabas senior director head of department surgical oncology robotic surgery BLK-Max hospital and at Max hospital Shalimar Bagh Onco surgeons performed scarless removal of the face tumour from the 46-year old patient robotically the hospital said in statement Using an innovative and novel technique for cancer treatment doctors excised the stage-2 oral cancer tumour from his face it added PTI KND CK

New Delhi Dec 25 PTI Delhi on Saturday recorded 249 fresh Covid cases the highest single-day rise since June 13 and one death while the positivity rate mounted to 043 per cent according to data shared by the city health department The death toll due to the coronavirus infection in Delhi has risen to 25104 On Friday 180 fresh cases were recorded with an increased positivity rate of 029 per cent as per officials figures The daily cases count on Saturday jumped to 249 with an increased positivity rate of 043 per cent as per the latest health bulletin This rise is the highest since June 13 when 255 cases were logged with a positivity rate of 035 per cent while 23 deaths were also recorded on that day On Saturday the positivity rate recorded was also the highest since June 9 when it had stood at 046 per cent according to official data The number of cumulativecaseson Saturday stood at 1443062 Over 1417 lakh patients have recovered from the infection in Delhi Six deaths have been reported in December so far The spike rise in fresh cases in the span of last few days here is being recorded amid a jump in cases of new Omicron variant of Covid in Delhi On Thursday the dailycasescount stood at 118 with a positivity rate of 019 per cent while one death was reported SevenCOVID-19 deaths were reported here in November this year the highest count offatalitiesdue to coronavirus infection in the last three months in the national capital according to official data Delhi had recorded four Covid deaths in October and five in September A total of 57295 tests -- 52444 RT-PCR tests and 4851 rapid antigen tests -- were conducted a day ago the latest bulletin said PTI KND CK

New Delhi Nov 30 PTI First and last train services on the Green Line of the Delhi Metro will be regulated till January 15 to undertake construction of a halt platform the DMRC said on Tuesday The Green Line connects Brig Hoshiar Singh Bahadurgarh and Inderlok stations with a branch line at the latter which takes it to Kirti Nagar stations A halt platform is an an additional interchange facility To undertake the construction of the halt platform at Green Line the first last metro services between Brig Hoshiar Singh to InderlokKirti Nagar will be regulated till 15th January 2022 as followed in the previous timetable the DMRC tweeted The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation DMRC in its tweet also shared a revised time-table of first and last metro stations which it had followed on the Green Line from near mid-June to September 30 for construction of the halt platform The tweet said the old time-table will follow till January 15 next year PTI KND CK

New Delhi Nov 29 PTI The site of Sarai Shahji Tomb in south Delhi is a monument of national importance declared under the provisions of the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act 1958 the Rajya Sabha was informed on Monday Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Kaushal Kishore in a written reply to question in the Upper House of Parliament also said South Delhi Municipal Corporation SDMC has informed that the Gitanjali Road in front of Shivalik A B Blocks and Malviya Nagar Begumpur has been notified as mixed-use street by the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi GNCTD on 15092006 The Archaeological Survey of India ASI has informed that group of monuments at Sarai Shahji Tomb in Malviya Nagar South Delhi is a monument of national importance declared under the provisions of the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act 1958 he said As per this Act new construction around the monument within the limit of prohibited area is prohibited ASI has further informed that as per this Act an area up to 100 metres from the boundary of a monument is declared as the prohibited area where only repair and renovation of the old structures or buildings are permitted after obtaining prior permission from the Competent Authority the minister said in his reply It has also informed that an area up to 200 m further beyond the prohibited area is notified as regulated area where repairs renovations reconstructions and new construction are permitted with prior permission from competent authority the Minister of State said In response to another question Kishore said an amendment was proposed by the SDMC to notify Geetanjali Road Block C A B Malviya Nagar and Begumpur excluding Community Facilities Site in Begumpur as mixed-use street which is yet to be notified by the Delhi government In this connection GNCTD had informed that an Interlocutory Application IA No 434872018 was filed by them in the Honble Supreme Court of India to allow issue of notification for 279 Roads under Mixed Used Regulations of Master Plan for Delhi MPD 2021 The matter is pending adjudication before the Honble Supreme Court he added PTI KND CK

New Delhi Nov 27 PTI Resident doctors of civic-run Hindu Rao Hospital who were on strike for the last few days over release of due salaries and other issues called off their stir on Saturday after being assured by authorities that their demands will be met a senior official said The 900-bed facility under the North Delhi Municipal Corporation NDMC is the largest civic-run hospital in the city The decision was taken after a meeting of North Delhi Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh Chairman of NDMC Standing Commitee Jogi Ram Jain Municipal Commissioner Sanjay Goel and representatives of the hospitals resident doctors association RDA at the Mayor House here a senior civic official said Later the NDMC also issued a statement saying the strike had been called off after the mayor and the standing committee chairman gave assurances to the protesting doctors that their demands will be met We have released salaries of resident doctors of Hindu Rao Hospital due for October Some would have received it today others will also get it in their account shortly Jain claimed and added that the resident doctors called off their strike on Saturday A very long meeting was held at the Mayor House he said A senior official of the hospital also said the salaries of resident doctors due for October has been released Jain claimed that salaries of senior doctors due for October have also been released and we have asked MCDA members to not go on a strike from Monday as it will affect patient services Senior doctors of NDMC-run hospitals and other civic facilities are set to go on an indefinite strike from Monday over the issue of their due salaries and arrears their association had said on Thursday The decision was taken by the Municipal Corporation Doctors Association MCDA in its general body meeting on Thursday its president Dr R R Gautam said adding emergency services will not be affected The MCDA an association of senior permanent doctors of civic hospitals was established in 1974 and has about 1200 members It also includes doctors from hospitals run by the other two -- east and south -- municipal corporations Doctors of the SDMC and EDMC are not part of this indefinite strike which we have planned to resort to from Monday If the due salaries for October is releasedMCDA members will not go on strike Gautam had earlier said PTI KND CK

New Delhi Nov 18 PTI A special stall has been opened at the Delhi Pavilion of the ongoing India International Trade Fair IITF here by poll authorities to facilitate voters especially the youth as part of the special summary revision exercise officials said on Thursday The special summary revision of Delhis electoral roll with January 1 2022 as the qualifying date began on November 1 Delhi CEO Ranbir Singh had earlier said and asserted that the poll authorities will carry out the exercise as a month-long festival for the electorate A special voters facilitation stall has been started at the Delhi Pavilion of the ongoing IITF at Pragati Maidan As the event sees a large footfall of youths so this decision was taken to help voters who are turning 18 before the cut-off date or have already turned but not enrolled in the voters list besides other sections of the electorate Singh told PTI on Thursday He said the idea behind opening the stall at IITF is also to reach out to lot of women voters including young women The special stall is the result of an initiative of the office of the New Delhi District Election Officer DEO he said After a years gap IITF is being held at Pragati Maidan in the national capital from November 14-27 with Atmanirbhar Bharat as its theme the commerce ministry had said early October The IITF is a huge attraction for the Delhites A special booth was set up at Delhi Pavilion in India Trade Promotion Organisation ITPO Pragati Maidan for dissemination of information regarding Special Summary Revision-2022 New Delhi DEO Monica Priyadarshini told PTI that the special booth set up at the Delhi Pavilion has a dedicated staff deployed to educate visitors about the Voter Helpline app which is the easiest way for any kind of voter-related service Response of visitors to this stall has been very encouraging she said Many youngsters have applied for new voter cards at the helpdesk through Voters Helpline App In less than two minutes they can enrol themselves as new voters she added The fair was not held in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic It was the second time in the history that IITF was not organised The first time this happened was in 1980 Visitors were allowed in Business Days category from November 14-18 and for general public days it will now open from Friday till November 27 During this exercise any person who would be 18 years or more on or before January 1 2022 will be eligible to enrol as a voter The final roll will be published on January 5 Delhi CEO Office will hold special camps on November 27 and 28 across all polling stations in the city to facilitate enrolment of voters as part of the special summary revision SSR exercise officials had said on Tuesday According to the draft roll published on November 1 2021 the total number of electors stand at 14795949 showed the data shared by the CEO Office There is a decrease in the number of both male and female voters in the draft roll vis-a-vis the one published on January 15 according to the data shared by the Delhi CEO The number of male female and third gender electors are 8088031 6706570 and 948 respectively according to the draft roll published on November 1 The numbers for the January 15 roll were 8158180 6738976 and 913 respectively Delhis last electoral roll was published in January 2021 according to which the total number of eligible voters in the city had then stood at over 148 crore PTI KND CK
