New Delhi Apr 21 PTI A 24-year-old woman was stabbed to death in southwest Delhis Sagarpur area on Thursday police said They identified the victim as Aarti and said the accused once used to be her neighbour Police said they received the information about the stabbing at around 2 pm and that she was declared brought dead at the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital During inquiry it was found that Aarti was stabbed while she ventured out of her house along with her children in the afternoon Deputy Commissioner of Police Southwest Manoj C said The accused and Aarti used to live nearby in Sagarpur Later she moved to another place an official said Investigation is underway to nab the accused the official said PTI NIT NIT CJ CJ

New Delhi Mar 26 PTI Two teenagers received burn injuries after an LPG cylinder in their house caught fire in central Delhis Ranjeet Nagar area police said on Monday They said they received information about the explosion on Street Number 211 at 904 pm on Sunday The family members smelt the gas leaking from the cylinder after which they removed its regulator However later they lit a match stick and it caught fire In the incident 16-year-old Anshumaan and 18-year-old Ritesh received 30 per cent and 45 per cent burn injuries respectively the police said The two teenagers were admitted to Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Hospital They were later referred to All India Institute Of Medical Sciences they said Adif Rizvi 26 who lives next door said that the cylinder exploded around around 9 pm I was studying in my room I thought it was an earthquake and immediately rushed out of the room We saw smoke billowing out of the house next to my room Later we got to know about the explosion I called the police and informed them about the incident My landlord lives on the ground floor and the gate of his house got damaged due to the explosion Rizvi who is preparing for UPSC civil services examination said PTI NIT NIT CJ CJ

New Delhi Mar 24 PTI Riled by the excessive barking of his octogenarian neighbours pet a 17-year-old boy allegedly killed the 85-year-old man while he tried to rescue the animal police said on Thursday According to the wife of the deceased the boy barged into their house and hit the man on his head with an iron road The police said the teenager wanted to kill the dog but as the old man came to its rescue the boy ended up killing him The police identified the deceased as Ashok Kumar a resident of Najafagarh area here Around 530 pm on Friday Kumars son called up the local police station and complained to them about the incident They arrived at the Rao Tula Ram Memorial Hospital and recorded the statement of Meena 65 the victims wife The police said based on the complaint they apprehended the 17-year-old but was later released by the juvenile justice board Kumar died in the hospital a couple of days later on Sunday Following this the statement of his wife was recorded again A case under Section 302 murder of the Indian Penal Code was registered Deputy Commissioner of Police Dwarka Shankar Choudhary said On Wednesday the police filed an application before the juvenile justice board to re-apprehend the boy the police said PTI NIT NIT CJ CJ

New Delhi Mar 20 PTI The Delhi Police has arrested a 27-year-old woman who was absconding for almost five years in a case of abduction and murder officials said on Sunday Nidhi a proclaimed offender was arrested from her native Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh they said She was one of the accused in the case of abduction and murder of a man named Sagar in 2015 After securing bail in 2017 she went absconding and was declared a proclaimed offender the next year the police said On Saturday based on a tip-off about Nidhi the police arrested her from near a caf in Ghaziabads Govindpuram Deputy Commissioner of Police Special Cell Jasmeet Singh said According to the police nine people including Nidhi and her husband Rahul Jaat had abducted Sagar on April 1 2015 from GTB Enclave area here took him to Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh and later mowed him down with a truck and killed him The alleged murder was made to look like an accident the police said Explaining the motive behind the killing they said Nidhi and Rahul were against Sagars friendship with Aarti Nidhis sister Despite their warning he kept meeting her even after her marriage This infuriated them and they decided to kill Sagar the police said Rahul too was out on bail He is a part of the notorious Rohit Chaudhary and Ankit Gurjar gang Rahul has previously been involved in three cases of murder attempt to murder and abduction for murder and was earlier booked under the Arms Act in Delhi the police said PTI NIT NIT CJ CJ

New Delhi Dec 29 PTI Two persons were arrested for allegedly robbing a cab driver of his car in northwest Delhis Jahangirpuri area police said on WednesdayThey identified the accused as Nitin 23 and Manoj Kumar Prajapati 31 both locals Naveen a driver with an app-based cab service in his police complaint alleged that he received a booking from G-block Jahangirpuri to the Indira Gandhi International Airport at 217 am on Monday However as he reached the pickup point he did not find anybody and hence decided to rest in his car At around 3 am the two men allegedly arrived at the spot and took away his car after threatening him They moved towards Shah Alam Bandh Road a senior police officer said quoting Naveen Raids were conducted at multiple locations after analysing CCTV footage and traced the accused and the car to C-block Jahangirpuri Deputy Commissioner of Police northwest Usha Rangnani said The DCP said Nitin is a habitual criminal and was previously involved in four cases PTI NIT NIT CJ CJ

New Delhi Dec 29 PTI Police have arrested two persons for allegedly raping a woman in West Delhis Hari Nagar area officials said on Wednesday Around 3 am on Monday the woman asked an unknown person to drop her at a relatives house The man who was accompanied by another person in the car picked her from Sagarpur They allegedly raped her after stopping the car at a secluded place in Nihal Vihar area Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police West Prashant Gautam said The two men have been booked under sections 376D gang-rape and 342 punishment for wrongful confinement of the Indian Penal Code Their car has been seized Gautam said There was some confusion over police jurisdiction as the car moved across multiple areas However it was resolved soon police said PTI NIT NIT CJ CJ
