Rajkot Jan 24 PTI The Gujarat government on Monday named an under-bridge in Rajkot after General Bipin Rawat to honour the countrys first Chief of Defence Staff who died in a chopper crash in December Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the under-bridge located in Laxmi Nagar area virtually In recent times the head of all three wings of the armed forces CDS General Bipin Rawat lost his life in a tragedy This bridge should be named CDS General Bipin Rawat Bridge Patel said Earlier Rajkot Mayor Pradeep Dav had asked the CM to suggest a name for the structure which was built at a cost of Rs 48 crore Patel said his government was committed to spending money to build infrastructure in the state and listed various development work undertaken in Rajkot General Rawat died on December 8 when his military helicopter crashed near Coonoor in Nilgiris district in Tamil Nadu All 14 on board including the generals wife perished in the incident PTI PD BNM BNM BNM
Ahmedabad Sep 17 PTI People not having taken any of the two COVID-19 vaccine doses will not be allowed entry into public transport or civic buildings a senior official of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation in Gujarat said on Friday The decision will come into force from September 20 and such people will be barred from entry into vehicles of the civic transport service the Bus Rapid Transit System as well as Kankaria lakefront Sabarmati riverfront libraries gymnasiums sports complex etc said AMC Commissioner Mukesh Kumar Entry will be allowed ONLY for persons having ONE or BOTH doses if eligible of vaccine for availing various municipal services Vaccine certificate shall be checked at entry point of such facilities To be effective from 20 September Monday Kumar tweeted The decision was taken to speed up the vaccination process and overcome possible hesitancy among people officials said PTI PD BNM BNM BNM
