Mumbai Mar 30 PTI Police have seized two fishing boats off the Mumbai coast and recovered 10950 litres of diesel illegally stocked in them an official said on Wednesday Two persons found in the boats were arrested in this connection he said The operation was conducted by the Yellow Gate police station here on a specific information about the illegally stocked diesel he said The accused persons identified as Deepakkumar Tandel 42 and Sureshbhai Tandel 47 were in deep sea for the last 15 days and it is suspected that they had procured the diesel illegally from big vessels anchored off the Gujarat coast the official said The police arrested the duo and seized both the fishing boats he said adding that they were produced in a local court which sent them to six days of police custody PTI DC NP NP
Ahmedabad Mar 30 PTI Police have launched a search for a man after his wife two teenage children and another relative were found dead inside their locked house here in Gujarat an official said on Wednesday The semi-decomposed bodies of Sonalben Gaekwad 37 her son Ganesh 17 daughter Pragati 15 and Sonalbens grandmother Subhadraben were found on Tuesday night in their house in Odhav locality of Ahmedabad It is suspected that they were stabbed to death a few days back the official said The incident came to light after Sonalbens mother Sanjuben approached the police saying she was not able to contact her daughter on phone and that the latters house was locked from outside Sonalbens husband Vinod Gaekwad is the main suspect in the case and efforts are on to nab him Deputy Commissioner of Police Achal Tyagi told reporters The suspect had called up his mother at his native place in Maharashtra to say that someone attacked his family and he escaped There is no evidence of an attack from outside It appears he told a lie to mislead everyone the official said Five police teams have been formed to investigate the case and gather evidence he said The police were also questioning Sanjuben Vinod had allegedly attacked her with a knife a few days ago over a property dispute the official said Vinod was angry as his mother-in-law had refused to transfer her house in her daughters name he said He used to have frequent fights with his wife after getting drunk But these are not enough reasons to kill his children the official said adding that at this stage they cannot rule out involvement of another person along with Vinod in the crime The suspects mother-in-law was in touch with him He misled her by saying that his wife and other family members had gone for a birthday party and will be back soon he said The suspects wife had invited her grandmother to their house and the latter was also among those found killed the police added PTI KA GK GK

Jodhpur Mar 25 PTI Police on Friday arrested a 23-year-old choreographer from Delhi for allegedly raping a student inside her schools toilet in Jodhpur four years ago The suspect identified as Sanam Gill who is a native of Nepal had settled in Delhi where he was working as choreographer and gym trainer police said adding that his family is living in Jodhpur According to police the incident took place in February 2018 when Gill had been engaged to train the children for a cultural performance for the annual function of the school The victim was then just five years old police said Police said the incident came to the notice of the victims mother three days ago when she was teaching her about good touch and bad touch at home It was then that the girl told her mother about the ordeal she suffered four years ago at her school Shocked mother took the daughter to a doctor where she was subjected to a sonography test report of which confirmed rape police said adding that the mother then filed a complaint against the choreographer Assistant commissioner of police Nishant Bhardwaj who is investigating the case said that the suspect had settled in Delhi about a month ago after his work had been affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic Describing the incident Bhardwaj said On February 26 2018 during a training session he followed the victim to the toilet and raped her there He threatened her not to tell about the incident to anyone The scared victim did not tell anyone about the incident until a few days ago when her mother sat to educate her about good touch and bad touch the ACP said Bhardwaj said that after the complaint by the girls mother police began the investigation and traced the suspect to Delhi from where he was arrested PTI CORR KVK KVK CJ CJ
