Puducherry records three new COVID-19 cases

Puducherry Apr 24 PTI Puducherry which was maintaining a COVID-19 free record for some days reported three new cases on Sunday that took the overall caseload in the Union Territory to 165780 In a release Director of Health G Sriramulu said the department tested 318 samples during the last 24 hours and found three fresh cases The overall recoveries were 163815 in the Union Territory All the three patients are in home quarantine the official said The death toll remained 1962 The test positivity rate was 094 per cent and the recovery rate was 9881 per cent Sriramulu said the health department has examined a total of 2233010 samples till now and found 1877884 out of them to be negative The department has so far administered 1675166 doses which comprised 962850 first doses 693325 second doses and 18991 booster doses the Director said PTI COR KH HDA HDA

Puducherry Apr 23 PTI Puducherry continued its COVID-19 free streak with no fresh cases and zero fatalities being reported on Saturday also Although the union territory continued to remain COVID-19 free now it was however necessary that there should be strict adherence to safety protocols by the public Lieutenant Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan said here No new cases were recorded in any of the four regions-Puducherry Karaikal Mahe and Yanam- during the last 24 hours ending 10 AM today Director of Health G Sriramulu said in a release The department tested 132 samples in the last 24 hours and there was no fresh viral infection he said and added that there was also no active case reported Sriramulu said the department has so far tested 2232878 samples and has found 1877752 out of them to be negative The overall case load remained 165777 and the recoveries also stood at 163815 The toll was 1962 as there were no virus-related fatalities Sriramulu noted that the test positivity rate was zero while the deaths and recoveries remained 118 per cent and 9882 per cent respectively The health department has so far administered 1671966 doses which comprised 962461 first doses 690779 second and 18726 booster doses the director saidMeanwhile the Lieutenant Governor in a release said there should be no lowering of the guard and people should use masks in public places The territorial administration is taking all necessary steps to ensure that there was no intrusion of fourth wave of the viral infection anywhere in the union territory the Lt Governor said adding that parents should ensure that their children were vaccinated without fail The government was also mulling holding special camps to vaccinate people against the COVID-19 she saidAt present it was difficult for the health authorities to bring people under vaccination scheme and hence intensive campaigns would be held to generate awareness among the people about the viral infection reported in several parts of the country she added PTI COR KH ROH ROH

Puducherry Mar 24 PTI Puducherry logged only a single case of COVID-19 on Thursday for the second consecutive day taking the overall tally to 165774 Director of Health G Sriramulu in a release said the health department has examined 303 samples in the last 24 hours and the solitary case surfaced from Puducherry region The other three regions of Karaikal Mahe and Yanam had no new case of infection Sriramulu said the department has examined 2226945 samples and has found 1871606 samples out of them to be negative No fresh fatality was reported from any of the regions today and the death toll remained unchanged at 1962 The test positivity rate was 033 per cent while the fatality and recovery rates were 118 per cent and 9881 per cent respectively There are 11 remaining active cases and all of them are staying in home quarantine the Director said adding that the number of overall recoveries stood at 163801 The department has administered 1622654 doses so far which comprised 940191 first doses 668879 second doses and 13584 booster doses the Director said PTI COR HDA HDA
