Prayagraj Feb 22 PTI Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday targeted previous SP and BSP governments in Uttar Pradesh alleging that they had turned the state into a bastion of terror and centre of riots They had made the state a corridor of mafia but now a defence corridor is being built in the state Shah said addressing an election event in Durga Puja Park of Pritam Nagar here Yogi Adityanaths government has eliminated the mafia in five years and if the Samajwadi-led government comes to power again people like Azam Khan Atiq Ahmed and Mukhtar Ansari will be out of jail Shah alleged There was a time when countrymade firearms were being made in Uttar Pradesh he said Previous SP-BSP governments had made the state a bastion of terror centre of riots and a mafia corridor he alleged But today missiles are being made in Uttar Pradesh This change has been brought by the BJP government in five years he said campaigning for Uttar Pradesh minister Siddharth Nath Singh Shah claimed that earlier UP villages and cities did not get 24-hour power supply But the Adityanath government supplied 24-hour electricity to people he said adding that the BJP government built five new expressways He said the state government built 40 new medical colleges and more than 57 engineering colleges The BJP government started the politics of development in the state and ended the politics of casteism he stressed PTI RAJ RDK RDK
Prayagraj Feb 20 PTI BJP general secretary and Rajya Sabha member Arun Singh on Sunday targeted the Samajwadi Party and the Congress saying the 2008 Gujarat bomb blasts were the result of their appeasement politics A special court on Friday handed down the death penalty to 38 people and sentenced 11 others to life imprisonment for the Ahmedabad serial blasts which killed 56 and injured over 200 in 2008 Five of those given death penalty belonged to UPs Azamgarh The BJP leader here said everybody has seen how those given death penalty went to Gujarat from UP for bomb blasts This is the result of appeasement politics he said blaming the Congress and the Samajwadi Party SP for it The Congress and the Samajwadi Party saved terrorists and stood for separatists he alleged talking to reporters here PTI RAJ RDK RDK
Prayagraj Jan 26 PTI The Uttar Pradesh Police here on Wednesday arrested two people and lodged a case against around 1000 unidentified persons in connection with the alleged rioting and blocking of the rail track at the local railway station by some job aspirants Three policemen were also suspended with immediate effect for using unnecessary force during the incident which took place on Tuesday A senior police official told reporters here that it appears that the accused had taken money from some political parties to create unrest A police team has been constituted to probe the incident from this angle A video of the incident had surfaced on social media following which Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had condemned the use of force against job aspirants who had gathered there in protest against alleged irregularities in a railway recruitment exam The two people arrested in connection with the case have been identified as Pradeep Yadav and Mukesh Yadav while the search for the third suspect Rajesh Sachin is on police said They had made inflammatory remarks on social media police added Giving information to reporters at the Police Lines here Senior Superintendent of Police SSP Ajay Kumar said a video of the incident had surfaced on social media in which some policemen were seen using unnecessary force Those policemen have been identified as Mohammad Arif Khan Durgesh Kumar and Achhe Lal They have been suspended with immediate effect and departmental action is being taken against them he said The SSP said there is no quarrel between police and students and those who play with students future wont be spared He said in connection with the Tuesdays incident they have registered a case against 1000 unidentified miscreants under 13 serious sections The Prayagraj police will not take action against any innocent person he assured The SSP said that it appears that the miscreants took money from some political parties to create unrest An 11-member team has been constituted to investigate this aspect he said A large number of students had gathered on the railway track but were chased down by police During this some students allegedly pelted policemen with stones Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Tuesday accused the Uttar Pradesh Police of assaulting students and vandalising their hostel in Prayagraj for protesting against unemployment The SSP had said some of them pelted policemen with stones and hid in their hostel nearby Police were trying to catch the culprits and some of the personnel used unnecessary force which is visible in the video he had said PTI RAJ RDK RDK

Prayagraj Nov 28 PTI The authorities here suspended a police station incharge and a head constable for dereliction of duty in connection with the murder of four members of a Dalit family at a village here They were brutally killed at Mohan Ganj Gohri village under the Phaphamau police station area of Allahabad district on Wednesday night Phoolchand 50 his wife Meenu Devi 45 daughter Sapna 17 and son Shiva 13 were murdered with sharp weapons while they were asleep The incident has drawn sharp reaction from the Opposition parties who criticised the government over law and order while terming it anti-Dalit Police sources said the SSP has suspended the Phaphamau police station incharge Ram Kewal Patel and head constable Sushil Singh in connection with the murder They have been suspended for not taking seriously a complaint of the victims family before the murder and dereliction of duty they said Surendra Singh Yadav the new in-charge of the Phaphamau police station said the incident is being investigated and a case has been registered against 11 people Police have so far questioned 10-12 people PTI RAJ RDK RDK
