New Delhi Dec 31 PTI Output of eight core sectors rose by 31 per cent in November as against a contraction of 11 per cent in the same month last year according to government data released on Friday Barring crude oil and cement all other sectors recorded positive growth in November In October these core sectors output had grown by 84 per cent The growth rate of the eight infrastructure sectors -- coal crude oil natural gas refinery products fertilisers steel cement and electricity -- stood at 137 per cent during April-November this fiscal as against a negative growth of 111 per cent during the same period last fiscal According to the data coal production rose by 82 per cent natural gas by 237 per cent refinery products 43 per cent fertilisers by 25 per cent steel by 08 per cent and electricity by 15 per cent in November PTI RR MKJ

New Delhi Aug 31 PTI The output of eight core sectors grew by 94 per cent in July mainly due to a low base effect and uptick in production of coal natural gas steel cement and electricity official data showed on Tuesday The eight infrastructure sectors of coal crude oil natural gas refinery products fertilisers steel cement and electricity had contracted by 76 per cent in July 2020 due to the nationwide lockdown imposed to control the spread of COVID-19 According to the commerce and industry ministry data production of coal natural gas refinery products steel cement and electricity jumped by 187 per cent 189 per cent 67 per cent 93 per cent 218 per cent and 9 per cent in July respectively Crude oil output contracted by 32 per cent during the month under review Fertiliser segment recorded a growth of 05 per cent During April-July this fiscal the eight sectors grew by 212 per cent against a negative growth of 198 per cent in the same period last year PTI RR MR ABM ABM
