Jaipur Apr 26 PTI The Rajasthan Police will launch a campaign against those who waste time and resources of law enforcers and courts by registering false cases Additional Director General of Police Crime Ravi Prakash Mehrada said on Tuesday that instructions have been given to all the officers from time to time by the police headquarters but this will be taken up as a campaign now Mehrada said initially two police stations of Jhunjhunu district were focused and the police got success He said that in 50 out of 52 false cases identified courts have imposed fines on the accused who registered false cases PTI SDA CK

Jaipur Feb 24 PTI Two women were arrested for allegedly assaulting another and putting chilli powder in her private parts in Rajasthans Barmer district police said The incident occurred in a village under Sindhari police station area six-seven days ago when the woman had gone to take her daughter-in-law at her parental house they said The mother of the victims daughter-in-law and another woman relative allegedly assaulted her and tortured her with chilli powder according to police The accuseds other family member who was present there video recorded the incident and sent it to another relative The video was circulated by the relative police said Station House Officer SHO Baldev Ram police identified the accused women after taking cognisance of the viral video He said the medical examination of the victim has been done and on the basis of her statement a case has been registered against the accused women and they were arrested on Thursday PTI SDA CK

Rajasthan CM directs ACB to work proactively

Jaipur Jan 24 PTI Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Monday directed the anti-corruption bureau ACB to work proactively with a policy of zero tolerance towards corruption He said the Rajasthan government gave prosecution sanctions to nearly 90 per cent of the cases in the year 2021 which shows the commitment of the state government against corruption Gehlot directed that the cases which are pending due to any reason should not be delayed further for prosecution sanction and decisions should be taken on a priority basis In a review meeting of the ACB it was informed that the action of 430 traps took place in the year 2021 to nab corrupt personnel while taking bribes which is the highest number of traps ever since the bureau was founded Last year the ACB arrested 32 officials of the Government of India in bribery cases and disposed of 575 cases which is an achievement a release mentioned Gehlot asked the ACB officials to ensure compliance with the instructions given in the last review meeting at the earliest Along with this he also directed to take effective action against organised corruption In the review meeting the chief minister also interacted with the officials about their experiences and listened to their suggestions for the betterment of the department Rajasthan ACB Director General BL Soni said time-bound disposal of pending cases is being done He informed that the ACB has got 239 officers and jawans due to which the investigation work has accelerated Chief Secretary Niranjan Arya ACS Home Abhay Kumar Principal Secretary Finance Akhil Arora Principal Secretary Personnel Hemant Gera ADG ACB Dinesh MN DIG Sawai Singh Godara and Vishnukant Ajmer Range DIG ACB Sameer Kumar Singh Jodhpur Range DIG ACB Kailash Vishnoi and other ACB officers posted in various ranges and districts participated in the meeting virtually PTI SDA CK

Jaipur Jan 23 PTI The Rajasthan Police rescued 22 bovines being transported illegally in two vehicles in Bharatpur district officials said An exchange of fire also took place between the police and smugglers they said Following a tip-off a police team tried to intercept two vehicles in Sikari area in the early hours of Sunday but the smugglers opened fire The police also fired in self defence The smugglers however managed to flee leaving behind the vehicles A total of 25 animals including six cows were being smuggled in the vehicles Three of the animals were found dead and the remaining were evacuated to a cow shelter police said PTI SDA CK

Jaipur Jan 22 PTI The Rajasthan Police has nabbed three absconding members of the gang that allegedly raped several women after abducting them from highways officials said on Saturday One of them identified as Jamna Shankar Meena who was involved in the gang rape of a tribal girl was arrested from Mumbai police said on Saturday Police had raided an abandoned house near a highway in Dhariawad area of Pratapgarh on Monday night where eight accused including two minors were hatching a conspiracy to rob a petrol pump Five people including a minor were nabbed However three of the accused including the other minor had managed to flee the scene The police had recovered video clips from a mobile phone possessed by the accused in which they were seen gang raping different girls and women including a minor who a few days back had registered a case of gang rape against four unidentified people She was gang raped on December 22 Three of the five accused including the minor who were held on Monday were involved in the gang rape of the girl while the fourth accused has been arrested from Mumbai SP Pratapgarh Amrita Duhan said She said that Meena was held in Mumbai while the other two were caught in a forested area in Pratapgarh All the three were absconding since Monday night when the police had raided the abandoned house She said the case is being investigated further PTI SDA CK

Jaipur Oct 29 PTI A Rajasthan police sub-inspector was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau on Friday for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 145 lakh in Ajmer district officials said An alleged middleman who took the bribe from the complainant on the behalf of the accused SI was also arrested an ACB official said The SI is posted as the Station House Officer SHO of Rupangarh The SHO had demanded a bribe of Rs 5 lakh through the alleged middleman Rohit Sharma from the complainant for not taking action against him in a case lodged against him Rajasthan ACB Director General B L Soni said After verification of the complaint a trap was laid and the accused SHO was held along with the middleman while taking a bribe amount of Rs 145 lakh They have been arrested under the Prevention of Corruption Act the senior ACB official said PTI SDA CK
