Jaipur Dec 24 PTI COVID-19 vaccination will be made mandatory for entering and using facilities at various places in Rajasthan from February 1 next year officials said on Friday The decision was taken at a meeting in which Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot held detailed discussions with divisional commissioners district collectors principals of medical colleges and health officials through video conferencing about the COVID situation in the state The Chief Minister also directed the officials to ensure strict compliance of various measures like wearing face mask and social distancing from the first week of January Earlier in the day Gehlot held a COVID review meeting with senior officials and doctors After this the Chief Minister called another meeting with divisional commissioners collectors and other officials for discussion Expressing concern over the spread of Omicron variant to about 110 countries of the world Gehlot said it is necessary for all people of the prescribed age group to get themselves vaccinated and there should be effective adherence to COVID protocols He directed the district administration to make people aware about vaccinations and wearing face masks It was decided that vaccination will be made mandatory for entry and use of various facilities in the state from February 1 The Chief Minister said people have become careless in adhering to COVID protocols because the number of daily cases were very less but the virus is again spreading The district administration should make the public aware that they should get vaccination compulsorily because this is the most effective way to prevent COVID infection According to experts the risk of infection and death is very low in those who get both doses of the vaccine he said Health Minister Parsadi Lal Meena said the system of screening should be strengthened at airports railway stations and other places Special vigil should be kept on the people coming in from abroad Along with this the testing system should also be strengthened he said Ayurveda Minister Subhash Garg Minister of State for Home Rajendra Singh Yadav Chief Secretary Niranjan Arya and other officials were also present in the meeting PTI SDA HDA
Jaipur Dec 22 PTI Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday expressed satisfaction over the progress in the Prashasan Gaon ke Sang campaign under which around 10 lakh pattas land deeds have been distributed to people across the state In a cabinet meeting Gehlot reviewed the implementation of the campaign that started from October 2 to give various relaxations and distribute land documents to people in rural areas It was informed during the meeting that close to 10 lakh leases have been distributed so far in the camps held in 10571 gram panchayats across 33 districts of the state under the campaign a release said In the cabinet meeting a decision to amend rules for the appointment of computer teachers in schools was also taken PTI SDA HDA

Jaipur Oct 22 PTI The second phase of polling for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members in Alwar and Dholpur districts of Rajasthan will be held on Saturday officials said The polling will take place from 8 am to 5 pm State Election Commissioner P S Mehra on Friday said 973 lakh voters would be able to exercise their franchise in both the districts in the second phase of polls A total of 1312 polling stations have been set up for voting in the second phase he said The elections for Alwar and Dholpur Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members are being conducted in three phases The first phase of polling was held on October 20 and the third phase will be conducted on October 26 Counting of votes will be done at the district headquarters on October 29 after all three phases of polling PTI SDA HDA
Jaipur Oct 21 PTI BJP national spokesperson and Jaipur Rural MP Rajyavardhan Rathore on Thursday alleged that the Congress government in Rajasthan has not promoted coronavirus vaccination in the state and has instead politicised the inoculation drive He claimed that there was discrimination in the vaccination campaign in the state due to which people had to wait in long lines to get their jabs Congress workers used the government machinery in their favour due to which the public had to wait in long lines for vaccination he told reporters at the party office here He said there was a war-like situation during the pandemic and even at that time the Congress did not do any work in the interest of the people and made allegations against the central government Rathore said the vaccines do not belong to any party as it was for the whole country but a lot of politics was done over it He said the figures of vaccination were low initially because leaders of the opposition parties did not promote the vaccines which was very sad The Lok Sabha member also congratulated the nation for crossing the 100 crore mark of coronavirus vaccinations in the country He said it was the biggest figure in the history of vaccinations in the whole world which could be possible mainly due to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi Rathore also targeted the state government over the prevailing law and order and farmers issues among others He said the crime rate has increased in Rajasthan with women and girls feeling unsafe under Congress rule Earlier in the day state Health Minister Raghu Sharma said more than 610 crore coronavirus vaccine doses have been administered in Rajasthan so far The minister said the state has so far administered 421 crore first doses and 189 crore second doses of COVID-19 vaccine PTI SDA HDA

Jaipur Aug 24 PTI Five people were arrested in Rajasthans Ajmer town for allegedly thrashing two beggars who apparently looked like Muslims and asking them to go to Pakistan police said on Tuesday The police action followed a video on social media that purportedly showed the accused who have been booked under various offences including promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion beating and threatening the men seeking alms in a housing colony in Ajmer The three victims in the video two men and a woman are yet to be identified police officials said The video was circulated across various social media platforms on Friday and the police registered the case on Tuesday The victims are not yet identified and they are being traced They apparently looked like Muslims said SHO of Ramganj police station Satendra Singh The main accused Lalit Sharma who beat up the beggars was arrested on Friday while four other accomplices identified as Shailendra Tak Tejpal Surendra and Rohit were arrested on Saturday the SHO said He said the action was taken suo motu on the basis of the video clip The video purportedly shows a boy a man and a woman being cornered by the group of five youths Sharma is seen purportedly kicking the boy on his head as he is crouched on the street He is also seen slapping the man for apparently begging in the housing colony and asked him to go to Pakistan for alms Meanwhile some members of the Muslim community approached the police officers raising objection over the issue saying their religious sentiments have been hurt The SHO said that case was registered on Tuesday by police itself under IPC Section 153-A promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion etc 295-A deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings or any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs 323 voluntarily causing hurt and 341 wrongful restraint No fresh arrest has been made and the matter is being investigated he added The incident comes a few days after a bangle seller was thrashed by a group of people even as he begged for mercy in Madhya Pradeshs Indore city The viral video showed the people levelling allegations of eve-teasing against the bangle seller and egging on others to beat him up PTI SDA HDA
