Jaipur Jan 30 PTI The Rajasthan government on Sunday set up a high-level committee to examine the lacune in the various examination processes including those for the competitive examination for the government jobs and determine a roadmap to rectify them The committee headed by retired judge Vijay Kumar Vyas of the Rajasthan High Court was set up by the Ashok Gehlot government a day after the sacking of Ajmer-based Rajasthan Board of Secondary Educations Chairman D P Jaroli and the suspension of the Boards secretary Arvind Kumar Sengwa and two others The punitive measures were taken after their alleged involvements in question paper leaks during the teachers recruitment exam REET in September surfaced The panel headed by Justice Vyas will also have retired IPS officer and RPSCs former Chairman Mahendra Kumawat as its member while the Principal Secretary of Personnel Department will be its member-secretary This committee will examine various issues related to the examination process and give its report within 45 days a government statement said The decision to constitute the committee was taken in a meeting held by Chief Minister Gehlot on Friday night The orders to sack Jaroli and suspend Sengwa and two other officials were issued after the same meeting The committee will study the process of creating question banks for various examinations setting question papers ensuring the highest level of security and confidentiality in their printing and transportation to examination headquarters collection centres and examination centres after their printing and give its recommendation on them Along with this the committee will also give suggestions on creating the requisite infrastructure for setting up examination centres and fixing parameters and measures for the security and confidentiality of the centres during the exam The committee will also give suggestions on transparency in the allotment of examination centres determination of the role and responsibilities of the district coordinators examination centre superintendents supervisors and examination invigilators and disciplinary action to be taken in case of any lapse the statement said PTI SDA RAX RAX
Jaipur Jan 22 PTI The Rajasthan Human Rights Commission has ordered the state government to give a compensation of Rs 15 lakh to a BPL category man who was treated in a government hospital at Kota as a non-BPL patient and charged Rs 90000 The commission gave the order on a complaint of local resident Purshottam Bhargava who underwent angioplasty for a heart blockage in December 2019 in Kotas New Medical College Hospital NMCH Bhargava alleged in his complaint that Dr Hansraj Meena refused his registration as a BPL man and states Bhamashah health insurance beneficiary saying it will take 48 hours to get the approval for treatment under the BPL category and the patient may die by then The complainant alleged that the doctor forced his family to arrange Rs 65000 immediately for angioplasty The family somehow arranged the money and handed it over to a person inside the operation theatre as directed by Dr Meena After one stent was inserted Dr demanded Rs 25000 more for the second stent This amount was also given as per the demand the complainant said adding he would not have had to give the money had he been treated under the BPL category The commission ordered the Rajasthan Health Department to form an inquiry committee The five-member committee set up on the RHRCs order in February 2020 claimed that the allegations were baseless and it was mentioned in the bed head ticket that the patient was not a Bhamashah beneficiary The commission expressed displeasure over the report while observing that the complainant was not heard On the direction of the commission the committee conducted a secnd inquiry and concluded that a contractual employee who was at the counter had mentioned in the record that he was not a Bhamashah beneficiary That is why the benefit of being a Bhamashah cardholder could not be passed on to the patient and the cost for stents was charged RHRC member Mahesh Goyal during the hearing on January 13 said the patient was not given the benefit despite being a Bhamashah beneficiary He said the allegations against the doctor and the hospital administration cannot be considered baseless Goyal issued instructions to the state government to give Rs 15 lakh Rs 90000 which the patient had to spend and Rs 60000 as compensation in the next two months The commission also directed the government to fix the accountability of lapse in the case after a detailed enquiry and recover the compensation amount from the salary of the person responsible for making a hapless poor patient for his treatment amid a threat to his life PTI SDA RAX RAX

Jaipur Oct 26 PTI A POCSO court in Rajasthan on Tuesday awarded the death penalty to a man for raping and killing an 11-year-old girl in a little over four months after the commission of the crime An Ajmers POCSO court imposed the sentence in the rape and murder case lodged at the Pushkar police station in June this year Special Judge Ratan Lal Moond awarded the death penalty to Sundar alias Surendra alias Sattu a day after convicting him of the rape and killing of the child DGP M L Lather said on June 21 this year the 11-year-old girl had gone to graze cattle in the hills of Vaidhinath Mahadev in the Pushkar area of Ajmer and her body was found at night He said the police arrested Sattu on June 22 and filed a charge sheet against him on June 25 This is the second case in the Ajmer range where the courts have awarded death penalties in rape and murder cases Last week on Friday a special POCSO court in Merta city in Nagaur district had awarded the death penalty to a 25-year-old man after convicting him of raping and killing a seven-year-old girl Earlier on October 5 a Jaipur court had sentenced a 25-year-old man to 20 years in jail for raping a nine-year-old girl imposing the punishment within nine days of the commission of the crime PTI SDA RAX RAX
