1000 teams to present ideas in second round of Business Blasters programme

New Delhi Feb 20 PTI The second round of Delhi governments Business Blasters programme will witness 1000 shortlisted teams presenting their ideas in front of an expert panel comprising industrialists and members from universities of the national capital an official statement said on Sunday Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia held a review meeting with officials on the programmes second round for which about 1000 teams have been selected On February 25 and 26 these teams will present their ideas at the centres established at 28 city government schools before a panel comprising industrialists Education Department officials and members from universities of Delhi the statement added The panel will review these ideas assess them on set parameters and select them for the third phase of Business Blasters it said The top 100 teams selected by the panel will attend an investors expo organised by Delhi government where their ideas will be assessed by famous entrepreneurs and experts from universities it added Investors will be able to invest in these ideas and members of the top 10 teams selected at the expo will get direct admission to BBA course in city governments universities Under the Business Blasters programme over 3 lakh students of Delhi government schools formed over 51000 teams and received seed money of Rs 60 crore In the first phase of the programme 1000 teams were selected at school zonal and district levels with the help of experts These teams are receiving regular guidance and mentorship from experts and industrialists the statement added PTI SLB AAR AAR

New Delhi Jan 22 PTI Eighty-five per cent of Delhi government school students have been vaccinated for coronavirus Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said on Saturday while noting that inoculation in private schools is being done at a snails pace Now that the COVID-19 cases are declining considerably and most of the students in higher classes have been inoculated a proposal may be placed before the DDMA for reopening of schools he said Only 42 per cent of eligible students have been vaccinated in private schools till January 21 he added While government schools are moving towards fulfilling their target of vaccination inoculation is being done at a snails pace in private schools Except East Delhi district private schools have failed to achieve even 50 per cent vaccination coverage he said Private schools have about 35 lakh students eligible for COVID-19 vaccination but not even 2 lakh have been vaccinated till date the minister who also holds the education portfolio said Even aided schools havent fared well So far only 57 per cent of students have been vaccinated in aided schools he added About 85 per cent students of Delhi government schools in the age-group of 15-18 years have been vaccinated till January 21 according to a government statement The Directorate of Education DoE has set a target of 100 per cent vaccination till January 30 which appears within reach it said Sisodia on Saturday said that vaccination is the most effective way to be safe from COVID-19 and hence it is extremely important that all eligible students get vaccinated at the earliest In 12 out of the 15 education districts 85 per cent students of Delhi government schools have been vaccinated and there are about 300 schools where 90 per cent eligible students have got the jab he added Noting that the vaccination speed in government schools is commendable he said the teachers have been at the forefront in these unprecedented times of the pandemic They are taking care of not just education but also vaccination of students Hundred per cent vaccination of students will help us in shifting from online education to offline mode Now that the coronavirus cases are declining considerably and most of the students in higher classes have been inoculated a proposal may be placed before the DDMA for reopening of schools he said The vaccination of students between the age group of 15-18 years began from January 3 The Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP government had started making preparations for it on a war footing said the statement A nodal in-charge was deployed at each school it said adding that all class teachers were asked to ensure that information about vaccination sites reached all parents and students The government had designated over 150 sites for vaccination of school students The 20 school health clinics started at government schools were also turned into vaccination centres PTI SLB AAR AAR

Delhi govt lays down SOPs for COVID-19 cases

New Delhi Jan 22 PTI Labs giving real-time data to states segregation of coronavirus patients on basis of districts and assembly constituencies are part of the SOPs laid down by the Delhi government In an order issued last week the Health Department stated that it has prepared SOPs for Covid-care centres which also listed out guidelines to be followed for telecalling patients Under the SOPs labs have been directed to give real-time data within 20 hours to the State COVID-19 Response Centre They have been directed to segregate cases on the basis of districts assembly names and wards etc This data will be published on the integrated management app The tele-calling unit of the Covid-centre is responsible for calling up the patient within half-a-hour of testing positive it said In case a patient requires admission the team from the centre has to reach within an hour and facilitate it the order said With respect to other positive cases all will be given visit in coordination with the CDMO on the first day itself within four hours and time will be noted on software A home-visit team will do assessment and physical triage on spot and decide whether patient can be managed in Home isolation as per guidelines or need to be shifted to the Covid facility In brief patients may be categorized -- fit for hospital fit for CCC fit for Centre fit for home isolation or Un-cooperative it said It also said that the home visit team may consult or facilitate patient for video-calling with Doctor at Covid Care Centre if required The team will coordinate with HI team at Centre for admission isolation and shall share phonemobile numbers of Centre HI team and Home visit team members and also form a whatsapp group with the positive patient and will be responsible to follow the patient for the duration of home isolation There are 61954 active cases in Delhi of which 48356 are in home isolation according to government data PTI SLB AAR AAR
