Itanagar Mar 26 PTI The COVID-19 caseload in Arunachal Pradesh remained at 64484 as the northeastern state did not report any fresh coronavirus infection on Saturday a health department official saidThe death toll stood at 296 as no new fatality due to the disease was recorded in the last 24 hours State Surveillance Officer SSO Dr Lobsang Jampa saidAltogether 64187 people have recuperated from the infection so far he saidThe recovery rate among coronavirus patients in the state is currently at 9954 per centArunachal Pradesh now has only one active case in Lohit district the SSO saidOver 1268 samples have been tested for the infection in the state so far including 123 on FridayState Immunisation Officer SSO Dr Dimong Padung said 1658417 people have been inoculated with COVID vaccines thus far PTI UPL BDC BDC

1 new case takes Arunachals COVID-19 tally to 55324

Itanagar Dec 23 PTI One more person tested positive for COVID-19 in Arunachal Pradesh taking the states caseload to 55324 a senior health official said here on Thursday A total of 55023 people have recovered from the disease so far including one on Wednesday the official said Arunachal Pradesh now has 21 active cases while the COVID-19 death toll remained unchanged at 280 State Surveillance Officer SSO Dr Lobsang Jampa said The recovery rate among coronavirus patients stood at 9945 per cent he said The Capital Complex region comprising Itanagar Naharlagun Nirjuli and Banderdewa areas has the highest number of active cases at 16 followed by two in West Kameng and one each in Namsai Lohit and East Siang districts The state has thus far tested over 1203690 samples for COVID-19 including 211 on Wednesday Jampa said adding the positivity rate stood at 047 per cent State Immunisation Officer Dr Dimong Padung said that 1453101 people have been inoculated so far including 1439 on Wednesday PTI UPL SBN ACD ACD

Itanagar Dec 17 PTI More than 2000 airguns have been surrendered by people in Arunachal Pradesh since a special drive was launched in March this year to conserve wildlife Environment and Forest Minister Mama Natung has said Attending a programme of the surrender of 285 airguns in Upper Siang district headquarters Yingkiong on Wednesday Natung the brain behind the Airgun Surrender Abhiyan called on people to shoot with cameras instead of airguns Kandhe pe bandook lagaake shoot karna choriye aur galein mein camera latkaake shoot kijiye stop shooting with airguns and start shooting with cameras he said The initiative began at Lumdung village in East Kameng district on March 17 when 46 airguns were surrendered We need to change our mindset of looking at birds and animals only as meat he said while appealing to people to work towards making Arunachal Pradesh an airgun-free state Health and Family Welfare Minister Alo Libang stressed the need to preserve fauna diversity for future generations adding that conservation will also give an impetus to tourism Chief Minister Pema Khandu has recently urged community-based organisations to play an active role to make the campaign a peoples movement He said that the campaign would not be successful until people do not give up eating wild meat PTI UPL ACD ACD

Itanagar Nov 18 PTI Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig Retd B D Mishra on Thursday called upon armed forces personnel to uphold nationalism while maintaining bonhomie with civilians an official statement issued by Raj Bhavan here said Interacting with the members of a Mountain Cycling-cum-Trekking Expedition team from 106 Infantry Brigade at Raj Bhavan here the governor said the Centre under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always been concerned about the welfare of armed forces personnel who perform the duty of protecting the motherland As members of the democratic nations armed forces soldiers have to uphold nationalism and bonhomie with the civilian population Mishra stated The expedition which was flagged off from Nyakmadung in West Kameng has covered 714 km spanning seven districts of the state with an aim to foster the spirit of adventurism and strengthen the relationship between security forces and the local population The governor commended the officers and personnel for the mission as part of which they have interacted with school children and organised medical camps in remote areas the statement said Mishra exhorted the expedition team to continue its endeavour of creating awareness about the prowess of the Indian Armed forces and motivate the youth to join defence forces He advised them to prepare themselves for eventualities such as the ones in Doklam and Galwan The trekking-cum-cycling expedition led by Lt Col Rupam Sharma will cover a distance of about 1200 km before concluding at Tezpur on November 27 PTI UPL RMS RMS

Itanagar Oct 28 PTI A cadre of NSCNIM who was allegedly involved in planning an attack on security forces in Arunachal Pradeshs Tirap district last year was arrested Defence sources said on Thursday Acting on a tip-off a joint team of the Assam Rifles jawans and the state police personnel on Wednesday apprehended Dowang Wangsa the self-styled sergeant of the outfit from the district they said The joint team recovered a pistol and ammunition from his possession the sources said adding that Wangsa is a close associate of self-styled colonel Apem Tangkhul the operational commander of NSCN IM in Tirap district and self-styled major Victor Tangkhul of the outfit During interrogation the insurgent admitted that he was involved in planning an ambush on security forces in Sanliam village of the district on October 21 last year they said He was handed over to Khonsa Police Station for further investigation the sources added PTI UPL BDC BDC
