New Delhi Mar 23 PTIA total of1060707 electric vehicles were registered in India till last week while 1742 public charging stations PCS were operational in the country Parliament was informed on Wednesday In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said electric charging stations are to be provided by the developer on national highways as part of the wayside amenities WSAs The number of electric vehicles in the country as per Vahan 4 data as on March 19 is 1060707 and a total of 1742 Public Charging Stations PCS as per Bureau of Energy Efficiency BEE are operational in the country as on March 21 2022 Gadkari said He said the National Highways Authority of India NHAI has already awarded 39 such facilities for development Replying to a separate question Gadkari said 816 feetoll plazas are operational on national highways across the country as on March 21 2022 On the policy regarding winding up of a toll plaza he explained that as per National Highways Fee Determination of Rates and Collection Rules 2008 incase of Public Private Partnership PPP projects after completion of the concession period the user fee is to be collected by the central government at reduced rates of 40 per cent In case of public-funded projects the user fee rates are to be reduced to 40 per cent after recovery of capital cost of the project the minister said According to Gadkari Rajasthan 122 Uttar Pradesh 90 and Madhya Pradesh 77 have maximum number of fee plazas Replying to another question he said about Rs 2026845 crore and an amount of Rs 118994 crore has been releasedspent on projects sanctioned under the Central Road Infrastructure Fund CRIF and Economic Importance Interstate Connectivity EIISC scheme respectively during the last three years PTI BKS BKS HVA HVA

New Delhi Nov 30 PTIA total of 8390 people with disabilities received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 4018 both doses till November 28 according to the CoWIN portal Minister of State for Health Bharati Pravin Pawar told the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday The number of deaths due to COVID-19 including people with disabilities teported by states and UTs as on November27 2021 is 467933 she said in a written replyThe government of India she said has been providing free Covid vaccines in enough quantities to states and UTs for administration to the adult population aged 18 years and above she statedResponding to a separate question on whether the Union government is aware of the fact that several state governments have under-reported Covid deaths during the second wave Pawar said health is a state subject and detailed guidelines for reporting of deaths have been issued by the ministry to allstatesand UTs All of them accordingly report cases and deaths she said States have also been regularly advised to conduct death audits to ascertain the cause of deaths and undertake measures for improving the quality of healthcare services It has been noted that some states based on reconciliation of mortality data sometimes also revise the reported COVID-19 deaths States have been advised to regularly upload the data and any reconciliation post-facto should be avoided Pawar saidTo another question on whether the government has provided ex gratia compensation of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of COVID-19 patients who died Pawar said thegovernment through the National Disaster Management Authority NDMA has issued Guidelines to provide for ex-gratia assistance to kin of the deceased by COVID-19 The NDMA has recommended an amount of Rs 50000 per deceased person including those involved in relief operations or associated in preparedness activities subject to cause of death being certified as COVID-19 The ex-gratia assistance shall be provided by states from State Disaster Response Funds she said in the written replyAlso life insurance cover of Rs 50 lakh under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana is being provided to health professionals including frontline workers and ASHAs involved across the country in COVID-19 management the minister saidIn order to provide comprehensive support for children who have lost both their parents due to the Covid pandemic the Ministry of Women and Child Development under PM CARES for Children Scheme provides for health insurance empowers such children through education and equips them for self-sufficient existence with financial support on reaching 23 years of age she added PTI PLB MIN MIN

New Delhi Oct 28 PTIA court here on Thursday said the mobile data which has been collected from several accused in the Delhi riots conspiracy case cannot be provided to the co-accused as it allegedly contains pornographic material and would hamper their privacyFormer JNU student leader Umar Khalid JNU students Natasha Narwal and Devangana Kalita Jamia Coordination Committee member Safoora Zargar former AAP councillor Tahir Hussain and 13 others are the accused in the case and have been booked under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act UAPAIn the hearing conducted through video conferencing Additional Sessions Judge Amitabh Rawat orally made the remarks in response to the applications under Section 207 of the Code Of Criminal Procedure CrPC filed by the accused which said that they are supplied with a copy of all the evidence and material relied upon by the prosecution in the charge sheetDuring the proceedings the judge noted There have been few applications where the prosecution has made their reservations over certain personal data of other co-accused persons being made available to the applicant He further that the prosecution showed him certain photographs and details which is a sample of what is contained in the mobile phones of the accused persons From the look of those photographs and videos it cannot be made available to anyone the judge saidHe added I am told that there are certain audio and video of accused persons which cannot be supplied Perhaps it appears even to their counsels because it is pornographic material and video of self The judge orally said There are some porn videos it appears that accused persons have made of themselves So I guess you would understand that it would hamper the privacy and lives He however clarified that not everything is pornographic there are some personal photographs of the accused persons as wellThe judge directed the counsels of the accused Whenever you move an application under 207 CrPC give an advance copy to the prosecution so that they can file a reply to it or supply all the documents except those particular documents or videos on which they have expressed their reservation of being self-pornographic or some personal photograph Earlier Special Public Prosecutor Amit Prasad had told the court that supplying all data without any classification would infringe on the privacy of the othersEighteen accused in this case have been booked under stringent anti-terror law UAPA and are accused of being the masterminds of the February 2020 riots which had left 53 people dead and over 700 injured PTI AAK RKS RKS
