New Delhi Dec 31 PTI BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa on Friday said he has withdrawn his resignation as president of the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee as a stopgap arrangement to address administrative issues of the body Sirsa as a Shiromani Akali Dal SAD candidate had lost from Punjabi Bagh seat in the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee DSGMC polls held in August this year The party however won the polls by bagging 27 of the 46 seats Later Sirsa quit SAD to join the BJP He had also resigned from the post of DSGMC president that he was holding before the elections I withdrew my resignation to address administrative problems like release of salaries of the employees I will be there till a new chairman is elected in the elections to be held in January next year he told PTI He also claimed that the resignation tendered by him from the post of DSGMC president was not accepted due to technical and legal issues In a DSGMC office order issued under the name of Sirsa on Friday collapse of the administrative system non-payment of salaries and bonus to employees of DSGMC and its institutions and preparations at Bala Sahib Hospital run by DSGMC to tackle third wave of COVID were cited as reasons behind the move the undersigned has decided to withdraw his resignation with immediate effect for the smooth functioning of DSGMC and will continue to discharge his duties as President-DSGMC till the formation of new management Committee of DSGMC stated the order PTI VIT SRY

New Delhi Oct 28 PTI Four domestic workers allegedly decamped with jewellery and cash worth over Rs 3 crore from the house of an elderly couple who had hired them after drugging them in west Delhis Punjabi Bagh area police said on Thursday The incident took place on Saturday and police said they have arrested two of the house helps from Uttarakhand The family has a tour and travel company in Moti Bagh and lives in Punjabi Bagh they said The children of the couple were not at home at the time of the incident The couple were with six house helps Four of them sedated the couple and two other house helps by spiking their food police said The four accused took away jewellery watches and Rs 80 lakh cash They allegedly fled with an SUV parked inside the house a senior police officer said According to police the family members of the victim reached home and informed police about the incident The valuables were found missing The couple was found lying unconscious in the room while the two house helps were lying unconscious in the kitchen and the SUV was also missing A senior police officer said all the victims were rushed to hospital The family members claimed that the accused fled with around Rs 3 crore of jewellery and cash and took away their car The accused were identified and two of them were in Uttarakhand and planning to flee to Nepal Police teams were sent there Two men were apprehended and some of the stolen goods were recovered Two accused are females who are still on the run and efforts are being made to nab them police added PTI NIT CK

New Delhi Sep 21 PTI A 23-year-old woman who attempted suicide more than a week ago in west Delhis Punjabi Bagh area succumbed at a hospital here police said on Tuesday The woman had attempted suicide on September 10 and according to her family she allegedly consumed a poisonous substance they said No suicide note or any poisonous substance was found at the spot police said She was admitted to the Guru Gobind Singh Hospital in Raghubir Nagar and was later shifted to the Deen Dayal Upadhyay hospital where she died during the course of her treatment on the night of September 19 according to the police Her family members alleged that she committed suicide due to a man with whom she was suspected to be in a relationship a senior police officer said adding that no written statement has been given by the family in this matter During inquiry it was found that the person named by the victims family is married and that no complaint was made against him earlier by the woman or any of her family members the officer said Deputy Commissioner of Police West Urvija Goel said the body was handed over to police after post-mortem and an inquiry is in progress PTI AMP CK
