Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Congress Himachal Pradesh in-charge Rajeev Shukla and some other Congress leaders were also present during the courtesy meeting.
Speaking to reporters on Saturday after Sukhu called on Governor RV Arlekar and staked claim to form the government in the hill-state, Kamlesh Kumari, wife of the CM-designate, said, "We are feeling good. I am thankful to the people of the state and the Congress high-command. I will go to Shimla on Sunday."
Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel said that the high command has chosen Sukhu as leader of the legislature party and Mukesh Agnihotri will be Deputy Chief Minister.
Congress leader Rajeev Shukla, who was a part of the delegation, said that the opinion polls try to predict the results of the elections in a biased way.
"Today was the last day to withdraw candidate names and most of the Congress rebel candidates have withdrawn their names. Around 9-10 candidates have withdrawn their names. Only 2-3 candidates are left, and around 80 per cent of Congress, rebel candidates have withdrawn their names," said Rajiv Shukla
