Ahead of Gujarat assembly polls, the Election Commission of India seized cash, jewellery, drugs worth Rs 750 crore in Gujarat, said Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar in an Exclusive interview with ANI. Tomorrow is the first phase of elections in Gujarat in which voting will be held on 89 assembly seats. There are 2.39 crore voters in these 89 seats.
Ahead of Gujarat polls, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar expects record voting in Gujarat Assembly Election. The first phase of voting in Gujarat is going to happen tomorrow on 89 assembly seats for which 2.39 crore voters will cast their votes.
"The President is pleased to appoint Arun Goel, IAS (Retd.) (PB: 1985) as the Election Commissioner in the Election Commission with effect from the date he assumes the office," it said.
In order to address transgender issues in electoral roll, Election Commission of India decided to set up a committee which will undertake a study to make the process of becoming a voter easier for the Transgender community.
Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar along with Election Commissioner Anup Kumar Pandey launched the nationwide Special Summary Revision (SSR) 2023 on Wednesday in Pune.
The Gujarat Assembly elections are all set to take place in two phases on December 1 and 5, the results of which will be declared on December 8, which will coincide with that of the Himachal Pradesh polling outcome.
