Gurugram (Haryana) [India], September 13 (ANI/BusinessWire India): Cervical cancer is the fifth most common cancer among women globally according to World Health Organization (WHO). India accounts for one-fifth (1/5th) of the global burden of the disease. Every year in India, approximately 1.23 lakh women are diagnosed with cervical cancer and around 67,000 die from the disease. It is the second most common cancer affecting women in India. India has a population of approximately 43 crores women aged 15 years and older who are at risk of developing cervical cancer.
