Thiruvananthapuram Apr 20 PTI The revised rates for bus auto-rickshaw and taxi fares would come into effect from May 1 in Kerala According to a state cabinet decision on Wednesday the minimum fares for ordinary bus services including city town city-circular and city-shuttle would be Rs 10 from the earlier Rs 8 Besides that minimum bus fares of city fast services would be hiked from Rs 10 to Rs 12 for fast passenger and limited stop fast passenger the minimum rates would be increased from Rs 14 to Rs 15 and for superfast from Rs 20 to Rs 22 the cabinet decided Express super express super air express super deluxe semi sleeper bus services luxury high-tech and air conditioned AC bus services single axle services multi-axle services and existing low-floor AC bus services will not see any increase in fares it said The minimum fare of low floor non-AC bus services would be reduced to Rs 10 from the existing Rs 13 and that of AC sleeper services has been fixed at Rs 130 The cabinet also decided to appoint a commission to look into the issue of hiking the student fares The cabinet decision also said the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation KSRTC would be authorised to issue season tickets for a period of one month or more with discounts of up to 30 per cent of the general fare Besides bus services revised fares of auto-rickshaw taxi and quadricycles would also be in effect from May 1 the cabinet decision said The minimum auto-rickshaw fares from May 1 would be Rs 30 for 15 kilometres as against the existing rate of Rs 25 and thereafter Rs 15 would be charged for every subsequent km as against the existing Rs 12 per km it said Regarding taxi fares the cabinet decision said that for cabs with engine capacity of less than 1500 cc the minimum rate would be Rs 200 for the first 5 km as against the existing rate of Rs 175 and thereafter Rs 18 would be charged for every subsequent km as against the prevailing rate of Rs 15 per km For cabs with engine capacity of more than 1500 cc the minimum rate would be Rs 225 for the first 5 km as against the existing rate of Rs 200 and thereafter Rs 20 would be charged for every subsequent km as against the prevailing rate of Rs 17 per km it said The minimum fares of quadricycles would be Rs 35 for 15 km and thereafter Rs 15 for every subsequent km it said PTI HMP KH HDA HDA

Bhopal Feb 18 PTI In a relief to the hailstorm-hit farmers in Madhya Pradesh the state government has transferred Rs 20290 crore financial assistance into the bank accounts of over 146 lakh cultivators The amount was transferred online by state Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan via video-conference from his residence on Thursday an official of the state public relations department said On the occasion Chouhan said his government is farmer-friendly and it stands with them in every crisis including the natural calamities It is never late in providing relief to farmers after their crops get damaged Rs 20290 crore were transferred into the bank accounts of 146101 farmers from 26 districts in the state whose crops were damaged due to hailstorm last month In the last nearly two years a total of about Rs 175 lakh crore have been given to farmers under the Kisan Samman Nidhi and they have also been given zero per cent interest loan he said The chief minister also interacted with the beneficiary farmers of four districts whose crops got damaged due to untimely rains and hailstorms PTI MAS NP NP

New Delhi Dec 20 PTI Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Monday accused the BJP of corruption in civic bodies saying the Delhi government paid Rs 2588 crore to the MCDs till December but the BJP that administers them still didnt pay salaries to its employees Speaking at a press conference here Sisodia said the Delhi government has given 75 per cent of the total budget reserved for the MCDs in three installments and the rest 25 per cent is due in January As per the budget the Delhi government should give the MCDs Rs 3488 crores of which Rs 2588 crore have been paid till December The final 25 per cent of the money is due in January but the MCD employees havent been paid their salaries Sisodia said He added that the Delhi government has not even deducted any amount for the loans it gave to these bodies and that they owe the government Rs 6889 crore Since Arvind Kejriwal govt came into power in 2015 we havent taken the loan amount back from the MCDs The BJP embezzled Rs 6889 crore there is no accountability for the Rs 2588 crore and then they say there is no money the AAP leader said He also alleged that the BJP is busy making money through corruption in the MCDs instead of worrying about paying salaries cleaning up the city and maintaining hospitals and schools I will give you some examples of how deeply BJP is involved in corruption in the MCD It is involved in Rs 2500 crore rent scam Rs 1800 crore house tax scam and Rs 1800 crore property tax scam Sisodia said He also alleged that the BJP rented waste segregation machines for Rs 63 lakh instead of buying them which would have cost Rs 175 lakh each All the machines could have been bought for Rs 1 crore but it decided to pay an irrational rent and embezzled another Rs 1000 crore Then it proposed to pay Rs 306 rent per metric tonne of waste processing Each machine processes about 6000 metric tonne waste that comes up to Rs 1836 lakh in rent So Rs 1836 lakh is being paid in rent for a machine that costs Rs 175 lakh to buy he said Then the BJP says it doesnt have money The thing is that the BJP has enough money its just the MCD that doesnt have any he said The deputy CM also accused BJP of making Rs 10000 crore through illegal parking in Delhi The Delhi finance minister also accused BJP of swindling up to Rs 400 crore in a parking scam by selling parking space at throwaway prices to earn commission The BJP had sold 13 parking lots in the North MCD to private mafia for pennies and waived crores in property taxes for them All these parking lots could generate thousands of crores in revenue each year However in order to gulp down commission the BJP first sold all of the parking at rock-bottom prices and then waived their house tax Sisodia said Responding to Sisodias allegations Delhi BJP Spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor said the amount disbursed by the Delhi government for the fiscal year 2021-2022 was in fact fixed for year 2012 which has since doubled after the third fourth and fifth Delhi Finance Commissions recommendations Dy CM said that Delhi Government has released three-fourths of municipal funds for current year 2021-22 but didnt tell that the amount paid was fixed for year 2012 while after that 3rd 4th 5th Delhi Finance Commissions recommendations have doubled the amount and Delhi Government despite accepting the recommendations has not implemented them Kapoor said Denying other allegations as baseless Kapoor added that the North DMC has not sold any car parking and it is getting them constructed under PPP Model PTI MAH GJS MAH VN VN
