Jammu Apr 19 PTI Lieutenant Governor administration on Tuesday virtually launched the JKs first ever Gobardhan plant in a hamlet in Jammu district for safe management of cattle and organic waste and converting it into bio-gas as a national priority programme officials said The Commissioner Secretary Rural Development Department RDD Mandeep Kaur virtually inaugurated JKs first functional Gobardhan plant constructed under Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen SBM-G at village panchayat at Gigian of R S Pura block they said Director Rural Sanitation who was present in the village lit the gas stove connected with the plant and visited various beneficiary households Gobardhan a Janandolan on safe management of cattle and organic waste is being pursued as a national priority programme under SBM-G they said It aims to support villages in effectively managing their cattle and biodegradable waste It also helps villages to convert their waste to wealth improve environmental sanitation and curb diseases they said The gas produced from the plant can be used by these households for cooking purposes and the manure produced could be used in the fields by the beneficiaries officials said The project is based on a floating drum model which has been executed with a cost of Rs 15 lakh which has been funded through SBM-G they said As many as 20 households have been connected with the plant through pipes while Anganwadi centres and schools will also be connected with the project in future they said PTI AB RCJ

Lucknow Mar 26 PTI A day after taking oath as Uttar Pradeshs chief minister for a second consecutive term Yogi Adityanath on Saturday vowed to further strengthen the good governance in the state by competing with his own governments performance during his first term In a high-level meeting at Yojna Bhawan here Chief Minister Adityanath asked officials to identify ten priority sectors and work aggressively in those sectors to make the states economy worth one trillion US dollars Adityanath set the goals while also prioritising the work of filling vacancies in various government departments and setting up a mechanism of weekly review of various departments work by the state chief secretary and a fortnightly review by himself To strengthen the good governance further our competition will start with ourselves and the establishment of good governance will have to be taken forward with more vigour an official statement quoted the chief minister as telling the states top officials in a high-level meeting on Saturday The meeting at Yojna Bhawan was attended by the chief secretary the Revenue Council chairman the Agriculture Production commissioner additional chief secretaries besides the principal secretaries and secretaries Asking officials to further improve the good governance in the state Adityanath said A new Uttar Pradesh of new India is taking shape on the ideas of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and this work should be expedited In the first term our challenge was to tackle malpractices in governance but in the last five years good governance has been established and in the next five years we will try to improve upon the work done in the previous term he added Referring to the BJPs Lok Kalyan Sankalp Patra election manifesto before the assembly elections Adityanath asked all officials to work in a coordinated manner to fulfil all the poll promises in a time-bound manner within five years He asked officials of every department to fix targets for 100 days six months and a year Emphasising his old resolve of zero-tolerance against corruption the chief minister said it should be effectively continued and technology should be extensively incorporated to make the government schemes more accessible to the common man The chief minister also sought the implementation of e-office aimed at enforcing punctuality and expeditious work culture in government offices He also sought improvement in the functioning of the Panchayati Raj institutions and village secretariats by the deployment of Panchayat assistants there He said village chaupals should be organised regularly by village-level revenue officials and those of the Panchayati Raj institutions and Rural Development Department in coordination with village heads to address the problems of rural people In a bid to further enforce the official responsibility and accountability the chief minister asked officials to reply to the Union government letters within a week and interact with the public on regular basis He also asked them to keep his office posted on the peoples feedback on various work of the government PTI CDN RAX RAX

Guwahati Dec 21 PTI Apparently frustrated by repeated verbal duels between ruling and opposition benches that disrupt proceedings Assam assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary on Tuesday gave a free-for-all ten minutes to the legislators to talk and debate as they wished The Speaker also started speaking in his mother tongue Bodo later when his pleas to the MLAs to maintain decorum in Assamese fell on deaf ears Bodo an associate official language of the state was included among the languages for transaction of business in the assembly after Daimary a leader of the Bodo community had taken over as the Speaker Uproarious scenes broke out in the House soon after the beginning of the days proceedings when opposition and ruling MLAs hurled allegations and counter-allegations during a reply to a question of Panchayat and Rural Development department Daimary stood up and requested the legislators to maintain decorum and let the proceedings continue When his repeated pleas went unheard the Speaker said he would allow the next 10 minutes for the members to continue with their kajia fight and speak as they wished and he will not interfere As the din refused to die down Daimary once again reminded the MLAs at the end of the fifth minute that if the ruckus grew louder he will not allow any of the proceedings during that period to be put on record The normal proceedings resumed at the end of the 10 minutes and continued smoothly for nearly 30 minutes before the ruckus started once again With verbal duels resuming between the two sides the Speaker started speaking in Bodo as his requests in Assamese to pacify the MLAs met with no success Unable to understand what Daimary was saying a number of MLAs put on their headphones to listen to the Assamese translation The assembly has a provision for that As the noise subsided Daimary again requested the MLAs to cooperate with him in ensuring that the House runs smoothly and the proceedings resumed PTI SSG NN NN

Ranchi Nov 22 PTI All products made by women self-help groups in Jharkhand under the brand name Palash will be available on e-shopping platforms soon the Jharkhand government said on Monday At present only select Palash products are sold by e-commerce companies Honey pickles candles chocolates of Palash brand will be available at an affordable price on Amazon while cold-pressed mustard oil is already available on Flipkart a statement issued by the state government said It is estimated that almost 2 lakh rural women will get additional livelihood opportunities through this move the statement said Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society JSLPS an arm of the state Rural Development department which owns the Palash brand has partnered with e-commerce companies like Amazon and Flipkart to leverage a larger market base and create an additional source of income for women members of JSLPS With the vision of connecting lakhs of women members of SHGs across the state to a sustainable livelihood solution Chief Minister Hemant Soren had launched the Palash brand under JSLPS Also this was aimed at creating entrepreneurship opportunities for them After putting multiple efforts towards branding and marketingit has started to yield positive results the statement said At present over 60 products under the Palash brand are available in the market All the products offered for sale are prepared naturally by the sisters of Sakhi Mandals women self-help groups A memorandum of understanding has been signed with Amazon and Flipkart to place Palash brand products in the larger market it said Through this initiative select products are currently available on Amazon and Flipkart while all Palash products will be listed in the coming days With this move we expect a significant rise in the income of the Sakhi Mandal Didis Manish Ranjan Secretary Rural Development Department said In the future the department is working to make available these products in Reliance Stores as well to get more customers the official said PTI NAM MM MM

Raipur Nov 19 PTI Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday made several announcements related to panchayat bodies including a hike in honorarium Addressing the state level Panchayati Raj Convention here Baghel said the honorarium given to the sarpanch will be increased from Rs 2000 to Rs 4000 while the hike will be from Rs 15000 to Rs 25000 for zilla parishad presidents The honorarium of zila panchayat vice president and members will be hiked from Rs 10000 to Rs 15000 and Rs 6000 to Rs10000 respectively The sarpanch will now be entitled to get the works done worth Rs 50 lakh while for public welfare works ZP presidents will get Rs 15 lakh per year vice presidents will get Rs 10 lakh members will get Rs 4 lakh he said The janpad panchayat president will get Rs 5 lakh per year janpad panchayat vice president Rs 3 lakh and janpad panchayat members Rs 2 lakh he added The note sheets seeking approval for implementation of the state budget schemes run by the Panchayat and Rural Development Department would be submitted to the president of concerned the zila panchayat and janpad panchayat he said adding that this provision will not be applicable for central government schemes PTI COR BNM BNM BNM
