New Delhi Jan 18 PTI The NCRTC has finished constructing the Jangpura Regional Rapid Transit System RRTS station underpass according to an official statement issued on Tuesday The National Capital Region Transport Corporation NCRTC stated that the underpass comprises four lanes and passes beneath Mathura Road enabling movement of all kinds of vehicles towards the Jangpura RRTS station This will also provide access to the train stabling-cum-maintenance yard which is being constructed for all the three corridors of the RRTS network Jangpura RRTS station is being connected by Mathura Road in South Delhi for smooth accessibility to the station The 17-km priority section between Sahibabad and Duhai is slated to be commissioned by 2023 and the full corridor from Sarai Kale Khan to Meerut by 2025 it stated According to the NCRTC the new facility will help residents of Ashram Maharani Bagh Nizamuddin and Jangpura avail RRTS services without having to worry about traffic jams This underpass construction has been done by box-pushing technology using precast boxes and pushing was done with the help of hydraulic jacks without disturbing the movement of traffic This underpass is completely pedestrian friendly as about 15-meter-wide space both side is dedicated to the pedestrian movement the statement read Jangpura RRTS station is the 25thstation on the 82-km-long Delhi Ghaziabad Meerut RRTS corridor with a stabling yard for train stabling and maintenance operational control centre office complexes and residential towers the statement mentioned NCRTC is implementing Indias first RRTS which is a rail-based high-speed high-frequency regional commuter transit system It has a design speed of 180 kmph and an average speed of 100 kmph Powered by electric traction RRTS will serve as a green mode of transport in NCR It will also lead to reduction in vehicular congestion and air pollution according to the NCRTC PTI AKM CJ CJ

New Delhi Oct 25 PTI An autorickshaw driver and two northeastern women were injured when one of them tried to resist a snatching bid police said on Monday The incident took place on October 22 when the two women were going to Majnu Ka Tila after office The two women who are from the northeast are currently living in southeast Delhis East of Kailash When they reached Y point near Sarai Kale Khan two unknown bikers came near their autorickshaw and tried to snatch one of the two womens mobile phone the police said While snatching the mobile phone the bikers also tried to pull the 41-year-old woman out of the auto they said The autorickshaw got disbalanced and it overturned resulting in injuries to the auto driver and the two women Deputy Commissioner of Police Southeast Esha Pandey said All the three injured were admitted to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital and were discharged after treatment the officer said Based on the statements of the woman we have registered a case under section 394 Voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery and 34 Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention of the Indian Penal Code at Sunlight Colony police station Pandey said A probe into the matter is underway and several CCTV cameras installed in and around the route of the scene of crime are being analysed to establish the identity of the accused and ascertain the sequence of events she added PTI AMP SNE SNE

Delhi police bust racket involved in forging passports visas

New Delhi Sep 17 PTI The police here have busted a racket in connection with making forged documents and obtaining passports fraudulently to send people abroad with the arrest of six men including three Bangladeshi nationals The accused were identified as Akhtauzzaman Talukder 54 Fozil Rabbi Shipon 22 and Rasal 35 from Bangladesh and Vibhor Saini 32 Saurabh Ghosh 36 and Fahim Khan 24 they said Shipon and Rasal were being sent to foreign countries via India using fake documents they added According to police Talukder who worked as a travel agent is the mastermind He would identify persons from Nepal and Bangladesh willing to go to foreign countries and called them to India on medical visa He then arranged fake documents and fraudulently obtained Indian passports for them with the help of his partners in lieu of large amount of money police said The matter came to light on on September 11 when Rasal Shipon and Talukder reached the IGI airport to board Qatar Airways flight to travel to Doha They were found carrying fake documents and were thus intercepted by CISF staff a police official said When Rasal and Shipon were interrogated they disclosed that they met Talukder in Delhi who arranged their travel for Serbia in lieu of Rs 200000 and Rs 250000 a senior police officer said Investigations revealed that Talukder opened two fake companies with the help of which he and his gang members procured fraudulent visas of various countries the officer said Deputy Commissioner of Police IGI Airport Vikram K Porwal said During interrogation the accused Akhtauzzaman Talukder who works as a travel agent himself and operates from his office in Sarai Kale Khan disclosed the names of other agents who helped in sending people to various countries by preparing and arranging passports on forged documents Later three other agents were arrested in the case after several raids were conducted at various places in and around Delhi he said Investigations revealed that Vibhor Saini was instrumental in arranging the boarding of passengers and immigration clearance inside the airport for Bangladeshi nationals Porwal said Police claimed to have recovered several passports cheque books issued from various banks in the name of the fake company and other items including immigration and visa stamps of various countries PTI AMP MGA MGA
