New Delhi Apr 23 PTI Entertainer-actor Lilly Singh who has just penned her second book says she has been doing short comedy for quite some time and now wants to get into more long-form script writing for movies and TV showsBe a Triangle How I Went from Being Lost to Getting My Life into Shape published by Pan Macmillan India in which Singh shares her personal struggles with identity self-sabotage and negative thought patterns was however really hard to writeShe had five false starts with writing itI started writing and would delete I even tried getting out of writing this book I called my manager being like I cant do this It was super hard because it required me to go on a journey and do some really deep work that was scary and uncomfortable to do Singh told PTI in an email interviewBut she is quite satisfied with the resultI call this book the blueprint for making a safe space in your mind I think its relevant for anyone looking to find more satisfaction in their day to day lives The tools in the book have proven helpful for me to find more stability in my life which has helped me to be happier too It is concise by design as I want it to be a book that people can have as a reference anytime they need it she saysSingh decided to write Be A Triangle a follow-up to How To Be A Bawse because during the pandemic I realised that who I am as a person what my values are what I want to achieve out of life what my moral compass is all fluctuated a lot day to dayShe goes on to add If something was going great in my life Id be super grateful Id be a different person when something was going bad and suddenly my entire moral compass would change I would have a different viewpoint on life and I didnt understand who I was changing so much from day to day So I concluded that I needed to build a strong foundation of who I am that doesnt waver According to Singh her goal in writing this book is to have built such a solid foundation based on the ideas of the book that these words will apply years from now to her life and her readers livesOn her next writing venture she says I definitely want to get into more long-form script writing for movies and TV shows I have done short form comedy for so long and now I feel ready to expand into more complex stories character development backstories and showing different point of views For Singh who writes directs produces and stars in comedy and inspirational videos the definition of happiness should not always remain the sameRight now happiness is to work on something really meaningful be present to it and enjoy myself My goal is to come home at the end of the day and say that was a lot of fun and I made really great memoriesAlso happiness for me is doing meaningful work while being surrounded by great people Whether it is friends or someone you work with being able to make real connections with people is how I define happiness as well she saysMeditation which she talks a lot about in her book is Singhs favourite stress busterI started meditating regularly about a year and a half ago I dont have one specific way to do it but the most common way I practice is going through the four pillars I discuss in Be A Triangle a relationship with myself a relationship with the universe understanding distraction and implementing design she saysShe also rues that in some cultures in the world including in India women are told what to do But she feels that is changing I think theres this universal culture of trying to control women in different ways that we really need to tackle I talk about it a lot in my Ted Talk but I think it will take a big shift in culture to make it happen I am trying to be a part of that change Singh says PTI ZMN RB RB

New Delhi Jan 23 PTI Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Sunday said the people of his state and he himself wanted the Armed Forces Special Powers Act to be lifted but added that it should be done with consent of the Centre Underlining that national security is top priority Singh said We are a border state and share an international border with Myanmar I have to see the national interest as well Ahead of the assembly election in the state there has been a growing chorus for the withdrawal of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act or AFSPA The people of Manipur including me want that AFSPA should be lifted but after a mutual understanding with the central government as national security is the first priority for us Singh told PTI in an interview It is not possible to do so without assessing the ground situation he added Talking about the law and order situation in the state Singh said in the last five years no major unwanted incidents have been reported and insurgency has come down by 90 per cent Therefore I believe AFSPA can be lifted gradually with the consent of the central government We must remember there is no political stability in Myanmar and we share the border with that nation he said He further said the Manipur government is also trying to have a meaningful dialogue with Manipuri insurgents living in Myanmar Talking about the ruling BJPs prospects in the upcoming assembly polls in Manipur Singh said Elections will show a massive change We will double our seats and we are working hard to get two-thirds majority On alliance he said the BJP will not have any pre-poll alliance but post-poll alliance can be forged if required Peace development and harmonious coexistence is our main poll planks this time Singh said The BJP had won 21 seats in the last assembly polls and later formed the government in alliance with the NPP and the NPF Later its strength in the assembly increased to 30 after some MLAs defected from the Congress and other parties The elections in Manipur will be held in two phases on February 27 and March 3 PTI JTR SMN SMN

New Delhi Nov 19 PTI A special stall has been opened at the Delhi Pavilion of the ongoing India International Trade Fair IITF here by poll authorities to facilitate voters especially the youth as part of the special summary revision exercise officials said The special summary revision of Delhis electoral roll with January 1 2022 as the qualifying date began on November 1 Delhi CEO Ranbir Singh had earlier said and asserted that the poll authorities will carry out the exercise as a month-long festival for the electorate A special voters facilitation stall has been started at the Delhi Pavilion of the ongoing IITF at Pragati Maidan As the event sees a large footfall of youths so this decision was taken to help voters who are turning 18 before the cut-off date or have already turned but not enrolled in the voters list besides other sections of the electorate Singh told PTI on ThursdayHe said the idea behind opening the stall at IITF is also to reach out to lot of women voters including young womenThe special stall is the result of an initiative of the office of the New Delhi District Election Officer DEO he saidAfter a years gap IITF is being held at Pragati Maidan in the national capital from November 14-27 with Atmanirbhar Bharat as its theme the commerce ministry had said early OctoberThe IITF is a huge attraction for the Delhites A special booth was set up at Delhi Pavilion in India Trade Promotion Organisation ITPO Pragati Maidan for dissemination of information regarding Special Summary Revision-2022New Delhi DEO Monica Priyadarshini told PTI that the special booth set up at the Delhi Pavilion has a dedicated staff deployed to educate visitors about the Voter Helpline app which is the easiest way for any kind of voter-related serviceResponse of visitors to this stall has been very encouraging she said Many youngsters have applied for new voter cards at the helpdesk through Voters Helpline App In less than two minutes they can enrol themselves as new voters she addedThe fair was not held in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic It was the second time in the history that IITF was not organised The first time this happened was in 1980Visitors were allowed in Business Days category from November 14-18 and for general public days it will now open from Friday till November 27During this exercise any person who would be 18 years or more on or before January 1 2022 will be eligible to enrol as a voter The final roll will be published on January 5Delhi CEO Office will hold special camps on November 27 and 28 across all polling stations in the city to facilitate enrolment of voters as part of the special summary revision SSR exercise officials had said on TuesdayAccording to the draft roll published on November 1 2021 the total number of electors stand at 14795949 showed the data shared by the CEO OfficeThere is a decrease in the number of both male and female voters in the draft roll vis-a-vis the one published on January 15 according to the data shared by the Delhi CEOThe number of male female and third gender electors are 8088031 6706570 and 948 respectively according to the draft roll published on November 1The numbers for the January 15 roll were 8158180 6738976 and 913 respectivelyDelhis last electoral roll was published in January 2021 according to which the total number of eligible voters in the city had then stood at over 148 crore PTI KND KJ KJ
