New Delhi [India], September 21 (ANI): The Delhi High Court on Wednesday restrained former Indian Hockey Team coach Sjoerd Marjine from giving any interview and issuance of any statement in connection with an allegation he had levelled against Indian field hockey team captain Manpreet Singh.
According to Marijne in 2017 when the Dutchman was the coach of the Indian men's hockey team, he picked a young player to represent India at the Commonwealth Games 2018 in Gold, he was pretty positive about his success as a player but the player failed to perform.
Shocked by two harassment complaints by female athletes against their respective coaches, the Sports Authority of India (SAI) on Wednesday made it compulsory for National Sports Federations (NSFs) to add a woman coach in the contingents, if women are contesting at home and abroad.
SAI had investigated the case through its Internal Complaints Committee which in its preliminary report submitted on June 8, 2022 stated that the case was prima facie established and the incidents that the athlete had mentioned in her complaint were correct.
