Chandigarh Mar 24 PTI Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday announced setting up of a high-powered committee to deal with corruption cases more effectively Speaking to reporters here after chairing a meeting of deputy commissioners and superintendents of police from across the state the chief minister said the committee will meet every month to redress complaints of corruption at the earliestThe chief minister told the officials to deal with cases of corruption with an iron hand and said he would also be monitoring things closely sources saidThe BJP-JJP government has come under attack from the opposition which has alleged rampant corruption in various spheres of the governmentIn the recently held budget session of Haryana assembly the opposition had claimed that several scams have taken place during the BJP-led government in the stateKhattar said the committee will be headed by the Haryana chief secretary It will include the financial commissioner revenue additional chief secretary home director general of police additional director general of police CID and director of State Vigilance Bureau as its members The chief minister also announced the expansion of State Vigilance at the division levelAccording to an official statement the meeting mainly discussed the focus points of the recently presented state budget Along with this monitoring of corruption was also discussed it saidCorruption has penetrated deeply today Previous governments did not expose it and brushed it under the carpet But whenever any wrongdoing comes to our notice we take action The main aim of the government is to create an atmosphere of fear in the minds of the corrupt For this the government is also laying stress on digitalisation he saidThe chief minister said to check corruption while decentralizing the Haryana State Vigilance Bureau it has been decided to set up six independent units at the divisional levelProsecution sanction of these units at the divisional level will be with the divisional commissioner The main task of these units will be to investigate corruption complaints received against group B C and D category government employees involving an amount of up to Rs 1 croreThe State Vigilance Bureau will continue to investigate the complaints of group A category employees involving an amount of Rs 1 crore or moreMeanwhile Khattar said it has also been decided to form a Human Resource Department for government employeesThe department will keep records related to employees their transfers cases against them and pension-related matters after retirementThis department will remain with the chief minister PTI SUN VSD RHL

Chandigarh Nov 20 PTI Former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Saturday slammed the BJP-led state government over the alleged recruitment scams saying every job is on sale He also accused the state government of trying to hide the scams Every job in the present government is for sale People engaged in the business of jobs are making lakhs and crores alleged Hooda in a statement here For the past many years the government is constantly trying to hide the scams in recruitment but the cupboard is so full of skeletons that the government is not able to cover them all even if it wants to alleged Hooda When the government tries to hide one scam another comes to the fore and when they try to save one accused the other gets trapped he said Hoodas accusation against the BJP-led government in Haryana came days after the state vigilance bureau arrested a deputy secretary of the Haryana Public Service Commission and two others for allegedly manipulating marks of candidates who appeared for a written examination for the recruitment of dental surgeons The Leader of Opposition in the Haryana assembly said the Congress has been continuously raising its voice over the issue There has been a strong demand to get paper leaks and recruitment scams investigated by the CBI he said adding that even the home minister of the state supported the demand But the government neither accepted the demand of the opposition nor of its home minister he said He also accused the state government of giving a clean chit to those involved in the scams For so many years people sitting in the offices of the HSSC Haryana Staff Selection Commission and the HPSC are doing the business of jobs on a large scale but it is surprising that these people are repeatedly given a clean chit by the government he alleged PTI CHS VSD RDK RDK
