New Delhi [India], July 27 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Wednesday agreed to hear a plea of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren against a Jharkhand High Court order tomorrow.

Ranchi Feb 18 PTI The High Court of Jharkhand on Friday once again pulled up Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences RIMS for not filling up vacant posts in the fourth gradeThe court warned the director of the apex medical institution in Ranchi that if the vacancies are not filled up it would tantamount to violation of court directives and result in the initiation of contempt proceedingsA bench of Chief Justice Dr Ravi Ranjan and Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad was hearing a public interest litigation on the lack of facilities in the instituteThe bench had earlier ordered the hospital and the state government to ensure that vacancies in the fourth grade are filled upQuestioning the reason for not filling up the vacancies the court in an oral observation said the absence of manpower affects the working of a hospitalThe case will again be heard on February 22Earlier the hospital had informed that it has made appointments through outsourcing due to a written direction received from the state governmentThe court had then asked the director of RIMS why regular appointments were not being done when there were vacanciesThe PIL was initiated at the behest of the high court on the basis of news reports on the problems faced by the public due to the lack of infrastructure in RIMS PTI CORR NAM MM MM
Ranchi Jan 28 PTI The Jharkhand High Court Friday questioned the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences RIMS over the logic behind making certain appointments through the outsourcing routeA division bench of Chief Justice Dr Ravi Ranjan and Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad asked its director and the state government as to why appointments were made in the fourth grade via outsourcingThe bench was hearing a PIL initiated suo moto on the problems faced by the public at large due to the lack of infrastructure at RIMSThe court ordered the director of the institute to virtually before it on the next date and inform about the reasons behind such appointmentsIt also asked RIMS and the state government to file affidavits in the matter The case has been listed after a fortnight Meanwhile RIMS advocate Akashdeep said it made appointments through the outsourcing route following a written direction received from the Jharkhand government in this regard PTI CORR NAM RBT RBT

Ranchi Sep 23 PTI The CBI which is probing the death case of Dhanbad judge Uttam Anand told the Jharkhand High Court on Thursday that the autorickshaw driver who has been apprehended in this connection intentionally hit him with his three-wheeler The Central Bureau of Investigation CBI during the hearing of the case on a virtual platform said a probe is underway to find out who all are involved in the conspiracy The 49-year-old district judge was allegedly mowed down by a heavy autorickshaw while he was out jogging near Randhir Verma Chowk in Dhanbad on the morning of July 28 CBI zonal joint director Sharad Agarwal submitted before the court that his death was not a case of accident Agarwal appeared before the division bench of Chief Justice Ravi Ranjan and Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad and said that officers of the agency are working round the clock to uncover the truth behind the incident The bench observed that the case has shaken the morale of the judiciary Time is the essence of this investigation it said The more time is spent harder it will be to ascertain the truth the bench stated Agarwal further said that the autorickshaw driver Lakhan Verma had earlier committed mobile thefts Verma has been changing his statements every now and then but the agency is doing everything to reach to the depth of the matter the CBI zonal joint director said The police had initially taken up the investigation into the death case with the Dhanbad SSP and DGP assuring the court of a speedy inquiry The government later decided to recommend a CBI probe into the matter The CBI then took up the matter on August 4 with the high court monitoring the progress in its investigation The central agency had been submitting sealed reports to the court on the status of the probe into the case PTI CORR NAM RMS RMS
